What car next?

Featured Replies

At the moment I drive a pretty nice GT which looks and drives the part. Spent loads of money re-newing/upgrading it.

I have a bit of compensation money due within the next 6 months. I could spend the cash on the GT but there comes a time when you start spending stupid amounts of money on what is basically an old 1.3 N/a.

So.... I'm after a new car.

I would love a mk2 Gti 8v (always been a sucker for a 8v for some reason) or a mk3 16v Anniversary.

Any one else want to throw some nice cars into the equation and with reasons why? My buget will be 1k -2.5k

What about a mk3 golf vr6? I've seen a few standard ones round by me go for 1000-1500, so that would leave you enough to get a few mods or pay for any extra insurance?

mk2 golf seems to be the most popular upgrade after a polo haha

mk2 golf tbh....:)

mk3 anni :)

Id love to see you in a mk2 rocco if I'm honest, i reckon that would be ace. Unsure of price range though?

E30 BMW?

yes i think it would suit your complection

Haha knob not like that!!! Just cause it would be a hella sweet car!

924? They're the car the rocco should have been, and cost about the same.

The insurance on any Porsche I found to be very expensive.

I wouldn't recommend a Scirocco. The MK2 golf is better hands down, for looks, affordability, handling, creature comforts, fuel economy and performance and VW I suggest the MK2 golf 16V GTI.

I suggest that you write down a list of what you want.

For example, RWD, Sports car, Sunroof, electric windows, sub 9 second 0-60, fun, 2 seater. That was my list, it eveloved after oppinions and test drives, RWD was one of the later must haves, it became the highest priority though.

if my car sells the next car i'll be buying is a 1.8 16v corrado, i reckon they're smart as

A Golf is 10X better than a polo mate ..

Go for it ..

If I sold mine I would be on the hunt for a rocco or a mk2 golf

Put the money in the bank and keep your car until something comes up that is totally and utterly you.

Your car is cool as fuck so i would be in no rush to find something else. Just keep your eyes peeled and wait for something special.

The best things always seem to come along when you aren't really looking.

Mk3 anni isn't a bad shout but its the only mk3 i'd have, they look awesome in silver. If you were ever going to get a VR6 it would have to be in a corrado......better.

That's a 944, totally different budget.

On a Lancaster Classic policy, limitted 5000miles a year, my 924 is £27 more for the year than my Polo Coupe would have been.

Right.. I should have said I'm a student and will be for the next few years so has to be reliable and cheap(ish) running costs!

mk3 Anni, and don't bother with VR6's that are under 1500.

Mk3 Golf is what I'm thinking of going for in a year or two.

drop a g40 engine in it

Yeah becuase that wont eat my student loan!

Mk2 Golf GTD

surely cant be as much as a new car

Mk2 Golf GTD

I was gonna say be different...don't buy a Golf, but I would have a GTD because that is different! 8-)

Skoda Octavia 1.8T

Cheap as chips atm

golf GTD, thats what I'm after ideally to replace my driver

mk4 16v? I know you like them, £5k would allow for a good few mods to make it go well and look cool, and still have money left over.
