I've driven a cooper s. that are extremely fast, but the gearbox is a bit clonky, and i find the windscreen is a bit small. thats about it!

mmmmm that is alot better a said classic but i was ignored

I like new Minis i was tempted to sell the Polo last year for one them started hearin storys about the gearboxes bein dodgy etc etc so i backed off there common as fuck but i like em!

Use to drive one as a learner car and was really impressed it was the Mini One and i thought the gearox felt really responsive and well built, nice and easy to drive especially being a learner at the time

I like them, yea prefer the old ones but still like them.

Saw a works one the other day, looked very nice

my girlfriends brother is bmw mechanic and the new minis are clever , and the gearboxs can be dodgy but its only the idle gear but nothing to major , its worth getting a cooper if your going to get one

The new new mini they are realy technologically advanced , they can basically run with out a throttle body cause they have variable valve lift !!

there not minis there bmw's...

coming from a propa mini owner (used to have one)

BUT they are very good cars, jus not minis at the end of the day hehe

barkshire

Abominations.

my partner had a bmw mini a few years back and they're beautiful cars, i was looking into getting one but couldnt afford one, heres a pic of his, had alot of work and money spent on it but was well worth it in my oppinion ...

Shame about the graphics down the side (i'm guessing it's his business though?)

That "mini" actually looks pretty sweet IMO!

lol urgh not a fan fr to maxp!

i do like the new minis, not because they are trying to imitate the old ones, i just like the design

I've driven a Cooper and thought it handled quite well but it wasn't that fast (although the S is 8-) )

Interior build quality I found very disappointing though.

And that awful noise the steering system makes is enough to put me off them all together :x

same as, but i don't see why theres all this gayness about it not being a real mini, who cares?

i think they look smart,

is a cooper s works going around with me an the guy is running sooo much rear camber it loooks ace :)

not a fan of that one tho ^

I don't understand the "it's not a Mini" thing either. Aside from the fact that it's a bit big to actually be a name (MIDI would've been more accurate) it's a modern interpretation of the classic.

Is it not a Mini because Mini is owned by BMW? In which case, did the old one cease to be a Mini when Rover got bought by BMW? Does that make new Lamborghinis "not a proper Lambo" because they're owned by Audi? After all, they've now lost the cronky character in favour of Audi build quality.

I like the new Mini, it's a great drive even if you've got a One.

minis arnt that gay, an audi TT on the other hand, camper then a row of tents!

i am not a fan of new bwm small cars (there not a MINI) there fat now its like they built em for people that had em in the 60's now there fat they made the car bigger so they would feel better LOL

:lol::D8-)

I think this one has cost me more than a new mini though! (although goes a damn sight faster :-p )

I dont dislike the new minis. I wouldn't even be adverse to having one, but it'd have to be a cooper S. Definately not a fan of the new clubman, and it shouldn't have been called that either... its relationship to the regular new mini is nothing like the original clubmans relationship was to the original mini (if you get my drift... thr original had a revised front end but same rear end... the new has the same rear end and revised front end, if anythin it shoulda been called a New Mini Traveller)

I do understand where people are coming from when they complain about it not being a 'mini' anymore, and its not so much that its because its owned by BMW, more that it fundamentally lacks what made the the original mini the great, groundbreaking car that it was, and it really doesn't look much like a 'new mini' (whereas new lambos do still look like lambos etc imo)

Just my two penneth..

oh and sorry, not really a fan of that gold one above.

but it clearly appeals to a scene (just not one that i'm fond of :( )

THIS is how i'd like to have a new mini (pic shamelessly blagged from ED38 forum

its amazing how almost EVERY car looks so much more awesome with just a drop and some wheels. no need for any extra plastic imo :D

German OWNED. Fuck's sake. Mini is built in Britain, near Oxford, it's a BRITISH car.

It shares no components with BMWs. The management is based here. Does it really matter who owns it? By your logic the old Mini was German too by the end of its run.

And this logic doesn't stop you finding shit loads of Polos rocking German number plates and other tat when they've more than likely never even been to Germany.

haha my polo is Spanish.

I really like the new style mini, drove one for my driving lesson's. It was the One D version and was a hoot.

That ones above looks mint, would have to be an S if i was to have one these days.

I always love to see the old school mini's rocking out R reg style. They always look mint.

German OWNED. Fuck's sake. Mini is built in Britain, near Oxford, it's a BRITISH car.

It's in Oxford mate, pretty central. The factory has a "Mini" on the roof...

I traded my Polo Gti for a Mini, and to be honest ain't looked back. I have truly fallen in love with it. Handling and general speed is a perfect package, common as muck, but can make it personal enough to still get looks :) 8-)

And this whole, it aint a Mini thing, get over it, without BMW making the "Mini" a brit iconic name and car would in time be forgotten forever.
