Well ever since I had my car there has been a problem with the steering Shaking. The wheels have been balanced 3 times and every time its better lol, I have had the steering rack replaced with a newer one, that also improved it but it still shakes a bit over 60mph. Tyres in the front have the same tred as do the rear ones. I was thinking of getting it converted to PAS maybe that would fix it once and for all?

could be wheel bearings. wishbone bushes. tracking. track control arms. could be many, jack it up, grab hold of the wheel and see if there is any movement. if there is then something is deffo wrong with one of the above

Ye there was movement when we jacked it up.

Quite possibly wheel bearing if there was play!

deffo a problem with one of the above then matey, id say wheel bearing, a bugger to do without the right gear

The wheel bearings are ok I'm sure the wheels arent loose they don't wobble, but the whole thing moves a small amount. Guy in the garage said best thing to do is change the whole thing can't remember what he called it lol.

Wheels aren't buckled are they? I had one on the Rickman and it drove me nuts til I realised what was going off.

All look fine anyway of telling other then looking at it? lol They came off a Ford Fiesta and they were fine on that.

ahhh the plot thickens. have you got spigot rings on there? ford centerbore is 63.5mm vw is 57.1. so as the wheels are aftermarket i assume the centerbore will be bigger to fit the both stud patterns an bores on diff rides. but you would still need spigots to make them fit the vw hub properly, or they will vibrate like mad

you need a 73mm to 57.1mm spigot ring for them wheels, 100+ tornados

i had the same problem i just switched the rear wheels to front

that solved the problem

have you got directional tyres? my dad did and didnt realise, they were on the wrong way round and his was doing the same kinda thing.

the wheel should fit tight over the center of the hub, jack it up, take the bolts out, if the wheel moves on the center then id say that is deffo your problem. they arent that expensive off ebay or local A1 store, halfrauds may have them aswell

Ye the wheels sit on there nicely don't spin or anything. Completely flush. I will post a pic.

So there is a gap like in the center, center, So it would be worth getting some? As my garage is like 30mins way and I don't want to go all the way there to put these on if that's not it the problem. :< Don't there is any spigot rings on there.
