Wheel Refurb (Stage 1)

Featured Replies

Over the weekend i made a start on a set of wheels for a friend .

I started off with a dremel and went over the whole wheel getting rid of all the dirt and grime .

I then used form 60-100 git to sand it back to a slightly polished finnish

I think the best bet is to get some finer grit and keep sanding till the finnish becomes better .

I will be getting some polishing compound once i have sanded them back enougth and hopefully they should be mirror polished when there done .

This is how there looking after phase 1 in my refurb ..

60-100 Grit its on its way ..

A few more hours of sanding are needed with some finer paper and then some polishing compound to finnish them off ..

Keep watching this space ..

Could move fairly slowly though as my hands are beaten up after getting this far with only one wheel ! :crybaby:

What I want to know is where you managed to find all those gits?

Good job there, you'll end up with no fingerprints, but the wheels will look smart.
