My Final Proper Drive

Featured Replies

Howdy, just thought i'd show a couple of pics of my beast as it currently stands, the insurance runs out tommoro and due to lack of funds/employment wont be getting insured for a while, so i thought i'd make the final day count doing some country road action...

As you can see it went for a Proper rag session

Its quite funny, when i was 19 with 1years ncb it was 700, now i have 2years ncb its still around 700-800, that and increased fuel costs its just too much cash to blow at the min

have you not tried getting quotes from other places? who are you currently with?

I'm sure he has shopped around. i think not insuring your car and being car-less is the absoloute last resort for anyone here. i know how you feel, I'm moving away in august and wont be able to afford insurance the way things are looking.

i feel for you fella.

yeah i get that, just seems like a lot to be paying for a polo with 2 years no claims, i got quoted £830 with one years no claims on my mk2 16v gti. so i was just wondering if he had shopped around cause of how much it was.

I haven't shopped around that much really (i wouldnt be able to afford any quote over 300 so i haven't bothered), just a few online quotes and the renewal quote from norwich union which were all around 800

What you recon i could get that down too? I think tommoro i will ring up a few places for some proper phone call quotes

Beast! Nice and dirty

I know I'm gay and live in the middle of nowhere but I'm paying Admiral £500ish to insure the Golf and that's with 0NCB, so I'm sure they'd be able to help you out?

I would definately shop around! You should be able to get down below £300 :)

bell are pretty good for low NCB, and do 10month policies. whatever you do DONT SELL IT, please.

I'm with polopete, DONT SELL YOUR POLO! lol

Unless you get "12 months for the price of 10" these are not a good idea because they are often non-transferable. Most companies won't accept 3x10month NCBs as 3yrs NCB for example.

^^ I'm on 10 months, altho it doenst allow you to change insurer, it allows me to get on the road for less

Thats bollocks mate :(

Hope you can get something sorted, I went for 6 months without a car while I got my £90 polo on the road but I'm lucky with being an old fart in my thirties. With no years no claims I got Insured for £500 as my first policy with mods declared but am struggling being unemployed with bloody petrol prices as they are.

Car looks tough 8-)

i just got a quote off HIC for my 16v lowerd, ss exhurst, alloys and a few cosmetic changes, with 1 ync they quoted me £499 (i'll defo be going there when renewl comes up in a couple of weeks).

you should easily get yours below £300, or you could just tell them its garaged with a cat 1 alarm and just hope it don't get robbed

Go for direct line. I have no NCB and I'm not paying alot

Quote from HIC = "Over a Grand"

LOL.... Waiting for quote from brentacre

Quote from Brentacre = "£840"

Looks like I'm not going to be driving my car anytime soon :-(
