Back to the rollers

Featured Replies

Went back to my old college yesterday to run the Polo up on the dyno, didn't have a chance to tweak anything (or check the aquamist is actually working) so the figures could be improved upon, (would like to hit 200bhp without the nitrous)

Power & Torque:

Power & Boost- :unibrow: :

And Power & A/F- low as it's on gas, not optimum but not far off:

I'm currently trying to ripp apart a Subframe with 200lbft, although not getting very far :disgust::lol:

bloody hell!! :D that is incredible!!

thats insane power, well done yoof

That is sick!

Holly cr4p!!

That must be insaine to drive... or try and drive more like!!

Very impressive figures, and if the lines are due to wheels spinning, then the figure should be more then quoted!

i go to Brooklands collage

nice power mate

Cheers guys- the lines are squiggly due to interferance with the machine...

It span up in 3rd and 4th on the rollers, I suspect slightly in 5th with the gas too as my tracking is still out a touch.

To drive, it's erm... interesting :unibrow:

any pics of the beast ?

amazing stuff, this car and the figures it produces impress me everytime!

For those who missed out:

Normally it has wheels on, and isn't floating

And when I can be bothered to polish it:

Thats good Pete, especially so if still a 1272cc.

Looking hopeful for polos getting near R5GTT power figures this year me thinks

You got a turbo specific cam?

How you finding the cars composure now you got your subframe set up?

I know it's an odd question, and obviously you'd only have done it on private road

But would this car (or a similar Mk3 Polo of similar power) hit/break 150 mph?

Strange question but I'm just intriqued as to what difference size, aerodynamics etc make. As any 200 bhp BMW will do 155 (limited), but 200 bhp Mk2 Golfs and things generally don't, and I'm guessing it's aerodynamics.

edit: Of course this would also depend on your rev limit...

Very impressive, need to get mine on the rollers, hoping for something similar with mine

I guess you've not seen the age old Youtube video of the Lader powered mk3 then?

No.

lets see it

Surely it will have something to do with the chassis as well? The way the car puts the power down to the ground. It's all very well having something daft like 500hp in a small car, but unless the chassis is designed to use that power it wont be all that quick...

lets see it

It's still on there.

Yeah turbo cam- subframe is great :-D

Erm, yeah although I've only got 120mph clocks I've passed the stock G40 limiter (6750rpm =153mph) I'd not reccomend it though

Unless you've got nitrous, you won't- pritty certain over 200Bhp isn't possible with a K03, although that's my aim...

Oh... that video. Or do you mean another one?

"shiiit, av hit da limita!"

Is the car on standard tyres, is it a straight road? Etc.
