Pulled for being too low?

Featured Replies

yep..i got pulled over for next to zero ground clearance...he then checked my side exit...said nothing...checked my arch gap(zero..infact it was negative) i told him i was a mechanic...i am...well i was..he then asked my what engine was in the car as i accellerated away from him quite fast, only to 70 like....he then had a little chat with me about where i had been and where i was going...let me go with no producer or fine or even a warning...i went 2-300 yards down the road and he'd already pulled someone else...a brand new golf...he was clearly bored hahaha

When i was young stupid and immature (and skint)...i ran my 106 quiksilver with undeclared mods :ninja:

(before the lectures start stupid i know)

got pulled by the police COUNTLESS times, at least once a week they always looked at tyres, tax, mot, insure but never once picked up on the fact that i had obv mods and checked it agaist my insurance...

all mods declared now tho

and insure company didnt pick on mods when this happened to it...

Declaring mods is a VERY grey area. There are some legal people who believe your insurance company have no right to charge you extra, providing the car is still road legal. Also, if an insurance company decide not to pay out because your car is modified but not declared, and cannot prove beyond any reasonable doubt that it was a contributing factor to the accident, they can basically fuck off.

But then there are a few things like that. According to an insurance solicitor friend of my mum's, if your car is hit by a 3rd party, theoretically you can force the other insurer to repair your car to the standard it was before the accident, even if the costs are more than writing it off.

Yes mods are a very very grey area....

declaring mods, even if they dont contribute to a quicker car or the looks will bump insurance up slightly and make it harder to get insurance from some companies....

but dont declare them and have an accident, insurance will inspect the car and say, right this that and that, insurace will be void and you'll end up paying for your own car to be repaired(or written off), for his car to be repaired(or he loses NCD to claim on his own), you'll get points on licence for being classed as uninsured and a hefty fine... is it worth it??
