hey folks, i need a late mk3 distributor with leads if available

my mk3 is a late model (k plate) and it uses a different dizzy to the earlier motors, mine has magically failed and its gonna cost at least £211 for a brand new one, something i cant afford right now.

please let me know how much you want for it posted

Do you mean distributor or distributor cap? If it's just the cap, someone's pulling your leg, I'd be shocked if they were more than a tenner.

well, I'm gusssing it is the distributor then

i dont really know too much coz i was told over the phone, all the mechanic said is that its something to do with electronic starting and mumbled about bosch not being able to send one out.

i need this before next monday guys please if anybody can spare one

late and early mk3 aren't different. We need to know what engine is in it - 1.0, 1.3 spi, 1.3 mpi, or 1.3 GT.

If its a 1.0, 1.3 spi or a GT you can swap the faulty one for any dizzy off a mk3 in a scrappy. If its a 1.3 mpi (NZ engine code) you will need a vacuum advance dizzy, and there don't seem to be as many of these at the scrappers.

If you're stuck try smashing VW in leeds, or make a trip to the scrapyards.
