200mm Rear Drums

Featured Replies

Hey, I'm in the process of putting 256mm disks on the front of my GT, Vauxhall conversion, and am thinking its probably not a bad idea to do the rear accordingly, I Cba with rear disks, just wondering about the bigger drums off MK3 golfs etc, seem to remember reading that its been done before, anybody on here done it? straight swap, what parts are needed?

Cheers

Probably not worth the effort...

If you need a bit more power out back you could just swap the GT 17.46mm wheel cylinders for the G40 19.05mm ones.

If you want to do the 200mm conversion you should be okay with the existing stub axles, its just the back plates, shoes, and fitting kit that are needed. Along with your own choice of rear wheel cylinders, and new bearings.

I have heard of people even fitting the 230mm drums off the back of the Caddy, but the bolt pattern where the stub axles bolt on are different, so is alot more work.
