As expected my car rubs every now and again because of how low it is... thing is, it rubs alot on the back passengers side, alot more than the drivers if that makes sense... the car is on coilovers, lowered around 100mm and is even on both sides. so.... my question to you fine people is what else could cause it to rub so much on that side because to be honest, its really starting to piss me off now. lol its fine if I'm in the car on my own, but if i have a passenger, or god forbid when i take people in the back its hurrendous... am i doing any damage to anything aswell was my second question as it cant be a good thing lol

no cars sit level my front coilover are all the way down and the car doesnt sit level

as for the rubbing just gota live with it if you want it low or get your archs done

do what i do fill your back seats fulla crap so no one can sit in there

Rear axles arent always straight, bushes wear differently etc, so many things that could cause one side to be different to the other.

What side are fuel tanks on Mk4s?

Get the arches rolled or pulled then. And it's generally accepted you don't take rear passengers in properly low cars

roll the arches then...... OR just say its styling noise....

all i know is the tread around the edges of them is rapidly disapearing from the rubbing lol

You can expect more rubbing from one side than another. It happens on my car, the front near side rubs more than the off, despite my measuring both sides to be the same height. When I got my wheels tracked and adjusted I was told that the wheels never sit perfectly in the middle of the chasis meaning they can be closer to the left than the right or vice versa which could probably cause more rubbing on one side than the other. This is what I was told, whether it is true or not is a different matter.

I suggest you raise it up a bit, sometimes raising a few MM makes all the difference. So you can have no rubbing, but it will still pretty much look the same.

it rubbed constantly when i first bought it and i did raise it up by about 20mm, dont want to raise it up anymore as i bought the car purely for how it looked :(

maybe I'm jsut best off with a bus pass or something lol

Get your archs rolled and that should solve the problem easily! If you can afford a new set of tyres try and get a bit of stretch to tuck the tred in to the arch more!

rolled arches may still rub, but because they no longer will have a sharp edge on the lip, they shouldnt do as much damage to the tyre sidewall.

you sure its the rubbing doing that? the wheels might not be bolted on fully or you may need to get rears alligned, i know on polos rear camber isnt reeally possible but theres some laser allignment i think.

I reckon the easiest/cheapest/quickest option is for you (or someone else) to raise the coilovers up just a turn or two and it'd reduce the amount of scrubbing you get quite alot, so then it'd only do it over potholes etc which is a bit more bearable. And doing this shouldn't make it look too high either, you should still have a low car. That's what I'd do anyway :-)

you dont have a big sub and amp and all that heavy music shit in your boot by any chance do you? if so, try taking it out :p

put a sub and amp in and take out the back seats like me

just restrict suspension travel so you dont get rubbing, or take a few mm of back of wheel,
