my cars going back to standard

Featured Replies

Hello mate,

I'm insured on my mum policy also, on Zurich. They are bastards. And when i tried to declare my future exhaust mod they said no.

I'm currently runnin on clear front indicators / side indicators, alloys and debadged grill.

Tbfh, I'm not goign to declare the mods, I'm a careful driver and if i am involed in a acident then tis my problem.

I'm 18 and I cant afford to lose my money switching insuracne policies. I'm waiting till i get my years no claims then I'm going to somebody else where i can declare my mods and be legal.

So basically, i dont think you can do much, just dont crash. Any questions just pm!

Rick

Yeh, thats what happened to me too.

are you a copper? :?

just insure it 3rd partt and dont clame moods

What a ridiculous peice of advice.

"Don't claim mods."

What is that supposed to mean?

Don't declare them?

So what happens in the event of a claim? You're fucked, regardless of fault, the insurer can just walk away leaving you with a nice big bill.

What happens if you crash into someone and a 3rd party requried urgent facial reconstruction only available on private medical, only affordable by an insurance payout? You'd have wrecked their life aswell as broken the law and you'll get a jail sentance for a number of different charges.

Insurance is not there to cover just your car, it is there to cover every other road user and non road user that your vehicle is at risk of damaging or injuring.

A vehicles' value is only a small part of the broad view of insurance costing. Insurance is calculated upon the risks involved such as the driver, liscence held, penalties, claims, convictions, area of residence, carear, type of use, duration of use, other named drivers, vehicle performance, vehicle reputation and modifications amongst other things.

The only advice I can offer is too declare everything, for the sake of others as well as your own. If the quotes are too high because of modifications, then it's time to get rid of them, being able to legally drive a car is more important than not for the sake of it looking or sounding cool.

Try each insurer to get a wide range of quotes, print off the documentation as you can use that as proof of the quote and see if other insurers will beat it.

I'm with Admiral, a group 12 car, kept on a driveway, £590 fully comp, fully declared including all optional extra's with all charges included paying in monthly installments.
