Yep best way to do it is to heat them up with a heat gun or hot water and peel them away slowly, any glue thats left can be removed with petrol on a rag or bug/tar remover, oh and LOTS of elbow grease.

i put coil overs on mine the other week.....but now the front wheels are angleing in at the top.....dont supose you know y?...my bruvas m8 who fitted them said its cuz its so low but i dont no.do u?

Sounds like you need to get it into a garage and have the camber and tracking adjusted, leaving it for any length of time will cause uneven tyre wear pretty quickly, shouldn't cost that much to have it adjusted.

came out of my mates house today and one of my bump strips was on the floor...so think I'm gona take them off too lol

doubt they just fell off to be honest, still if i take them off, less to go wrong, right?

ill have to pull the old heat gun out tomorrow!

took me about 6 hours all in to do both sides of my mk3, got some nice blisters after aswell

use a caramel wheel obtainable from decent body shops and bodywork related shops, they are drill attachments iirc and it will take you 10 mins to do all your strip stickies with one of them and they only a few quid

i done them yesturday.....got moms hairdryer on it 2 loosen the glue and then used adhesive remover, then colour fast on where they came off! looks sweet now :-)

I'm fuming...

I've literally just taken my side strips off and during the last strip a chunk of paint came off with it!

Shall I have the strips put back on? If so with what?

or will touch up paint do the trick?

when i did mine it took about 6 hours and i used about 14 cans of elbow grease

tedious isnt even close...

all i did was slowly peel the bump strips off, using a credit card to loosen first off

then called my mate up and he brought round his black and decker mouse, i sanded it all right down to bare metal, and had a tin of spray so sprayed in light layers

came up pretty good, just needs lacquer

obviously can see where it was sanded down apon close inspection.

while i had the paint out i also tinted my rear lights in the same colour as my bodywork (needs lacquer too), looks well good at night, as i found out when i got pulled over last night.

he didnt seem to have any complaints about it so it must be legal :S

That happened to me, i slipped right at the end, it took an actual part of my bodywork off with it, had to get it filled in, touching it up didn't work. get a picture of the chip mate

Sand it with 300ish paper until the step in the paint feathers out into contour lines,light dusting with a rattle can once every 15 mins for an hour,then two weeks later,smooth the area with some 1500 wet n dry paper with soapy water. Then Tcut it. Then polish. You should do the whole lot inside a 300mm diameter area,two hours work.
