Hassle? Its a five minute job if you pikey it

Mine took many hours to do, did it perfectly, and now it has chips in it revealing the chrome again, so I'm going to look for a black badge aswel.

Best thing to do is what I did with mine (as you can't get OEM one's now lest someone from here sells you one) take your chrome badge, sand it down to buggery (thank you Ewan and his micro mouse!) and spray on some plastic primer.

Wait 24 hrs for it to dry properly then use whatever black paint you want to use, I used proper VW LC9Z (Black magic) so it was the same colour as the car

That's pretty much what I did, but didn't use that black paint. The badge is only plastic, so I used all of my modellers spray paints from when I used to build plastic model cars. Might have to do it again in the summer when I get this and that sprayed up.
