wel my temp gauge on my6n2 has gone strange

it works occasionallly bu then just dies

please help

Goes up and down, never stays the same? Probably your temp sensor, someone should comfirm

Same thing used to happen on my 6n2, fitted a new temp sensor and it works fine now.

yep, will be fitting one to my gti aswell, happend on my other 6n2, get it changed asap, because you will notice your fuel guage plummit aswell lol as i was avverageing about 5mpg out of my 1.0

is the temp sensor located on the left of the coolant tank (round clear ball to laeft rear of engine) with two little wires going into it. if so i looked at that i unclipped it, cleaned it and reconnected it?

where can i purchase a new sensor and are they easy to fit? thank you again

oh and the sensor you so called cleaned is the level of the coolant lol, wont do anything by cleaning it

maybe thats why it didnt do anything

I'm not too hot with electrics more used to motorcross bikes much simpler
