dont you just hate it when..

Featured Replies

you order some parts, wait all fucking weekend, ring them to confirm its in and they haven't even ordered it. and guess who? GSF!

i rang them on thursday morning and they said it'd be in today. its frustrating because i was going to do it in my only free time at work today when i can use the workshop.

Customer service seems to be a thing of the past if you ask me.

well one of the blokes who works there is sound and lives me. brought a set of plugs home with him to save me a trip through. but the bloke i spoke to today is the one i hate, he is ruder than hitler. I've rang everywhere to try and get one today just so i could ring tomorrow and say oh i dont need it anymore cos you didnt bother ordering it i went elsewhere but i cant get hold of one.

I've had the same trouble with GSF when I needed a set of valve guides.

yeah I went to kwik-fit today for a new exhaust for my mk2, as my old one is just a downpipe now, as the rest fell off and then I accidently ran over it. So I asked them to get the parts in that need replacing as they dont stock them anymore (took them the lifetime warranty so they could check the parts numbers), but they said they need the car to see what needs replacing. So they said when I bring my car in they will get the parts and fit them the same day, that'll be a first as they normally need one day to check the problem and then another couple days to get the parts and fit them.

guess I'm going to be walking home tomorrow as its a bit noisy to drive and is likely to attract unwanted attention

Can sympathise with that, had similar issues this weekend. I put some time aside to do an oil and filter change as it was the only time I’d have the chance before going on holiday. So, trundled across to my friendly garage on Saturday...bloody shut. Ended up going to GSF, antother 40 miles round trip.

I've never had any issues with them tbh, although how many people actually work there? Always seems to be a new face or two, every time I go!

Although, what was it that GSF had that your VW giveaway counter didn't?

Bosch hall sender replacement kit. thats the next thing on my list. and apart from new starter and alternator is the only thing i haven't replaced or had rebuilt lol

the main dissapointment was i was excited to change it. i look forward to doing something on my car and when its not in and i hit a downer, well I'm gutted, but now I'm looking forward to tomorrow now !!

VW cant do enough for me,sometimes give me discount. No GSF here in MK but we have ECP and they're usually a nightmare. A couple of them are sound, but one hasnt got a clue, and another is so rude - like its all such an inconvenience, having to serve a customer. Wouldnt be so bad if they supplied the correct parts, but its such a 'computer says no' culture, there.

well i only go to gsf if its a bosch part or something that will be overpriced at vw for the same thing. my local vag parts depo are proper sound and really helpful. just parts like wouldnt go as far as to say the rest of the dealership is...

I suppose it's all down to the people behind the counter. VW are a bit hit and miss for me. My nearest one is helpful, but charges the earth (£27.03 for oil, filter and washer) and I emailed another one who couldn't even be arsed to reply.

That, is a scary thought. Hats off you though.

Edited due to my bad maths
