How low?

Featured Replies

Gonna lower my girlfriend 6n but i dont want to proper slam it, i.e cant get over speed bumps, rubbbage problems.

What is a noticable amount of low without being silly?

Also with different amount front and rear what do we reckon, i want it kinda level, but when i lowered my m8s golf supposedly 60/60 it looked like it was far down at the back???

Also I'm budgeting so is their any major reason that i shouldnt just do springs, other than the fact it would be nice coz the uvas have been on the car some years now?

60mm is safe bet

80 is safe as well but u may catch exhaust on speed bumps

Depends on wheels dimensions/ tyres regarding rubbing issues.

If your lowering on coilovers, best thing to do is either set it to rock bottom, then if your unhappy raise it a bit more, then see if your happy, if not raise it a bit more or vice versa but lowering rather than raising....

safe bet i'd say is around 40mm, then see where you go from there.

just dont forget once youve mfound the height your happy with get it all alligned, unless you like paying for tyres

you wont notice 40mm

60 mm would only be noticed from anyone who knows what a lowered polo looks like

80mm if you want it you actually look low

^ think thats a bit of bullshizzle I've got mine lowered 60mm and it looks pretty slammed to the publc eye people always are asking me how much its lowered by

- oh and 60mm is good over speedbumps - JUST with 2 people in the car.

is that 60mm on front and rear??

what are peoples views on lowering on just springs, 60 to much for just springs??

60 front and rear mate, and id say just on springs its too much at least do what i did and get a shock n spring set then you can always do 60/40 if you want. and its only £120 new

my dad lives in the forest in lydney, i live in fleet atm near reading. Was in glos today and past through stroud, saw a red caddy, was pretty low

get coilovers if you can stretch to them(bout 200) as you can set what ever stance you want

yep.. and lose some of you are ride quality at the same time...

but as earlier mentioned...

no pain ... no gain... ;)
