I'd say report it to the police giving them full details of witnesses and the likes. Tell your insurance.

I think from memory by law he has 2 weeks to turn himself in to the police. If not then the police go round to question him. Thats when they check docs. and the rest just kinda follows.

Yesterday I inspected the damage on my car and to be honest it is not that bad. Above the wheel arch there is a small scratch, but it seems to rub off, so I think it is just from his paint. There is a small dent on the front wing, no paint damage, but it is pressed in slightly.

I went to look at his car yesterday. He had parked quite a way from where he (apparently) usually parks, but I found it in the end. His wheels were very very kerbed. They were black, but look silver with scratches. The whole car had little dings and scratches. More importantly the front left wing where his car hit mine had very little damage. I'm surprised that the thin metal hadn't even creased at all. There were a lot of scratches, but no sign of my paint on his car. I hadn't planned what to do when I got there, but I decided not to confront him. Actually to tell the truth I bottled it completely. I went back home and later came out again but this time with a letter which I left under his wiper. In hindsight it probably wasn't a good idea as I have now warned him, but basically I told him that I have his number plate and that I know where he works. I also wrote that he may be hearing from me shortly regarding the incident and in the mean time he should think twice about hitting someones car and driving off. I think it was more of a way to vent my anger more than anything else.

I don't think I can claim to have neck problems as his car kinda pushed my car out the way rather than a fast hit. Plus I don't think I could do it anyway, I would feel terrible doing that, even with all the money!

I am very tempted to go and see him today, but I have decided it wont achieve much. I think I may have to leave it. I think if the damage was severe it may be worth the hassle of reporting it, but to be honest I don't have the time. I'm going back to uni in Kingston tomorrow, and if anything came of it I wouldn't have the time to come back home as I have a ridiculous amount of work to do when I am back.

I suppose one good thing may have come of the situation. He may think twice about how he drives in the future and hopefully if he does hit someone again he will stop. I did write in the letter that if I was to report him he will probably get a driving ban of two years, so hopefully that shook him up a bit. I am still annoyed, but more at him than anything else as the damage is not too bad. But I suppose everyone makes mistakes. Or maybe I am being too nice!

I still think it will make him think twice. You know that feeling when you have a near miss or you nearly lose control but just about manage to hold it, you then start driving differently, maybe slower, or with turning down the music etc. I know its not the same thing, but next time he does hit someone I honestly believe he will think twice and not drive off. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I probably am being too nice, but to be honest the damage isn't really noticeable at all. I drove to a friends last night, and had to point out where he had hit me and he still struggled to see it. I know it is the principle of the thing, but I just don't have the time to pursue it and don't think it will achieve much.

you should of pissed on his door handle as well, ok it would of got you no further, but at least you'd feel a bit better about it.

I have been tempted to do something along those lines. The evening it happened I couldn't sleep as I was planning my attack on his car! Once I had calmed down I realised it would be more trouble than its worth, and I would only worry about there being a camera somewhere or witnesses!

Sh1t me, if anyone damaged my car, even if it was a rat look! and then drove off I would report it straight away! No messin, total lack of respect. I wouldn't dream of doin that to anyone. get him done! report it!

i'd nip to the shop and get some nice stinky fish and put it under his door handles, then get some expanding foam and spray it up his exhaust

I've not seen him around, as I have been away at uni for a while.

If that was me, take down the witnesses names and details, then call the police straight away.

He sped away, so he was in full acknowledgement of circumstances. By trying to get away, he's either got something to hide/lacks insurance or is hoping that you would search for him instead of going to the authorities.

It's a crime to leave the scene of an accident, Call the Police!
