here's my 6n polo that i have owned sinse around august last year, this is the longest i have owned a car for!

when i bought it:

on 13's and 6n2 rear lights:

this is how its looked since probably before christmas, but now due to some rust issues and knackered paint, it looked like this yesturday:

smoothing the badge from boot:

smoothed ariel from roof:

thats about as far as the body mods are going for now as i have very limited funds.

plans for the summer are coilovers and new wheels, also get all my I.C.E in the car that has been sat in my bedroom since july!

Yea, how are you going to listen to radio??? I mean CD's are great but its a pain when you changers in the boo

I'm thinking of smoothing off the roof too. I don't even have an aerial attached to my car, some chav snatched it!

Looking good mate although the tyres look like balloons on them 13's. Keeping it standard colour or something else?

You can get internal arials from halfords that sit along the top of the windscreen behind the rear view mirror, hardly even see them and it actually gives a better reception that the standard arial,

how have you filled that rear badge, dont you need to weld a metal plate in there as it will just sink with filler?

the ariel was welded up and the boot is just been fiberglassed. filler will only sink if it isnt done right, and i trust the bodyshop who are doing it. if it sinks then its tough just have to be re-done, but I'm confident it wont.

as for the radio, i have never listened to it before in my car at all!

colour is staying storm grey, i realy like the colour, just basically having the car freshened up with a few mods.

Fibreglass works but may start cracking at some point. Usually on small pieces its not so bad.

But fibreglass over the metal?!?!

Dont seem right to me!! A guide anywhere for this!??

what do you mean by works? its only the same as say having a bumper smoothed, not alot of places do plastic welding so will use fibreglass.

there is only going to be a very thin skim of filler on my boot.

yeah it will, as long as the surface is prepared, i.e scotched and slightly rough, just like paint.

the best to smooth your trunk is welding. combination of poly+metal+sunlight=you can start over again

i trust what the guys at the bodyshop are doing. plus if it does sink or whatever tehn ill just get it done again, no bid deal.

the people who are doing aidans car rebuild written off cars to showroom standard so i think they know if the fibreglass will stick or not !!

it will stay on there but over time it will crack, best way is welding it up, nuff said!

yeah thanks for the positives guys. I'm only paying a 1000 for the lot, but thats because my dad is good mates with the guys doing it.

ordering coilovers from philJ next week then I'm on the hunt for some 'scene' wheels lol!
