Have stopped the fuse blowing by putting in one of a much higher amperage, but this obviously isn't ideal.

When using the wipers, every time they reach the bottom, they seem to get stuck, causing the motor to work too hard and blow the fuse. in fact it drains so much power at this point that the lights dim and the cd player skips too! they don't appear to be catching on anything, and I oiled any moving parts to make sure that wasn't it.

Strange in that it doesn't happen if the wipers are on intermittent, or if I have used the washer and they are on the automated wipes from that.

Any ideas?

seems strange that they work fine on the automated but not the regular wipe. does it do the same on the high speed wipe aswell. see if you can swap the motor and linkage for another set. that will narrow the fault down to whether its wiring/relay related or mechanical linkage problem.

high speed wipe still has the higher drain, the lights dip and the wipers move slower at the bottom of the cycle, but the drain isn't as bad as on the regular wipe. the cd player is fine and the light dip is only noticeable when stopped right behind someone and I'm actively looking for it. will have a look around my local scrappies, see if I can find a spare motor and linkage!
