RAC towage

Featured Replies

I've seen a polo down in stoke on trent (I'm in leeds) that i fancy but its got gear box problems. I think it still drives

but just in case it gets too painful can i ring the RAC to take me home? Would they do that? I'd try and get as far home as i could but would they pick me up with a failed gearbox?

haha Yeah I'm a member, i reckon the car will get me home.....hopefully!

I'm with RAC and i got towed from leicester to reading which is about 130miles then a couple of days later i got towed to a garage which was another 20miles and i didn't pay a penny!

Nothing to do with RAC, but when my dizzy decided to give up, I got carried from Leeds to Fife. Thats 260+ miles!

Safe to say the driver wasnt impressed

Do you have to be on a certain level of RAC cover to get recovered? Because i think I'm on the basic thing.

yeh it your own road sie then they will take you ten miles to local garage , ring them and ask them !!

Depends on what cover you have.

Mine will take me to where ever I tell them to take me.

I'm on the cheapest so i bet they won't. I cant ring them because then they'll know I'm 'planning' on breaking down.

And you need to take a test to tow a trailer dont you? So borrowing a trailer wouldnt work either.

when i lost most gears whilst in london, The AA man advised that i only had roadside assistance and if i wanted towing/flatbedding home, i'd have to cough up another £70!

I'd ring up pretending to want info on an upgrade. The fact your gearbox dies a week or so later is just pure coincidence!

they wanted £150 to tow me from oxford road in manc to preston coz i have a 10mile towing limit

they then took me to a RAC 'approved' garage in manc which was an absolute bag of balls
