Great work Tom. Good chassis setup, will be great when you've dialled in the castor and toe. I like the exhaust, although the size of the flexi looks a bit overkill lol. Are you planning to fit a tubular manifold ?

I know this thread is a touch old now, but I was sent here by a link on the ebay listing for this amazing car which I am now the new owner of !!! (or will be once I collect it) I thought I'd leave a message here in the hope that you get an alert or something and could reply to it. you mention in this thread that you didn't 'yet' have a remap done. The current owner estimated 90bhp on his ebay listing which seems good to me, but I was wondering if you ever did get the remap done or anything similar before you sold it?

Just interested to know so i can think about getting it done if you never got round to it.

I'LL PUT IT IN THE ADS, THE MOT HAS RAN OUT THO, I THOUGHT IT HAD ANOTHER 2 MONTHS OOPS. Just thought I'd add a quick update to this thread - I saw it yesterday up at VWF near Leeds. When I sold it it looked like this:

And it now looks like this:

It's definitely moved away from the OEM+ look that it had when I sold it, but the owner has definitely made it his or her own! I was well chuffed to see it still on the road

What were the results after you completed it as you never updated. What was the stage3 subframe like when setup? i had the same suspension aswell but i changed to 35mm springs as i hated the ride.

Didnt catch the tire width on the last pic of it? 165 maybe?

Tyres look like 165/50/15 Bridgestones.

Went through a few phonecalls with one of the owners of this after Purple Tom had sold it. There was a few things needed doing to sort it out but the price was still really high.

Looks half the car it did to me now but thats just personal preferance. least its on the road though and is being looked after.

was mine ! and i didnt really like it either at that time - only did the wheels for vw fest then sold them - i have loads if pics but cant get them up on here off my phone - does anyone have instagram ill put a few pics up or even an email addres - car is gone now but engine is in a red one much cleaner with bike carbs ect.

that looks great now! i stil dont understand people putting splitters on mk3's though, from the side they look stupid! haha.

hi i was the next owner after jake had it,i bought the car with intentions of a respray in the same retro colour as i liked it, but sadley my mate reversed into my drivers side door and i couldnt find a new door anywhere!:(

a few months later my mate was selling a awesome much cleaner tornado red coupe 1.0 so i bought that cheap and knew it would be much easier to put the GT in so i sadley stripped the old shell, i put everything onto my red one, engine, running gear, brakes, exhaust, subfame etc.

i went for bike carbs and i have just finished the project, i will post pictures up of how my red one sits now. the engine is such a healthy runner and scrans alot of cars so well done for the work you put into it.

i still have the old shell in my garden with lots off parts if anyone is after a winter project?
