I'm going to get my dark blue 6N re-sprayed. If you could have any colour, what would it be! What colour do you think most suits the 6N?

stick the original colour... or a colour very similar to the original.. that way its not very noticeable that its had a full respray...

Why would it be noticeable that it had a respray? The only thing that won't be covered is the engine bay, or so I was told??

well what colours do YOU like! surely your spraying the car for yourself and not everyone else on here?

personally i think either silvers or blues look good on them, or why not go for a brown or green?

Hear what you're saying Will, but was maybe hoping for a unusual colour I hadn't seen to pop up here. I really like silver, it is uber classy on a Polo I think.

If its done properly it can be pulled off, Best thing to do is stick to a colour close to the orginal.

Hearing-aid beige.. Or that cream colour the Beetles came in. But yeah,you ought only change the colour if its going to be a bare shell spray. Otherwise the blue will show in places like boot,sunroof,engine bay,under the car like the inner wheel arches,etc. Not a good look. Also,its got to match your trim. So its no use going for metallic brown,if you've got dark blue interior trim.

what ever colour you like! as it will be you waking upto it every morning and driving it non of us will! babyblue could work and hearing aid beige. but not on a dark blue polo, stick to a colour as close to original as possible maybe abit or pearl added to the original colour or abit more metal flake to give it a really metallicy colour?

Hmm interesting responses.. I was under the impression a respray would mask all the colour... obviously not?? I gave someone a ring and asked them to quote me for a colour change from dark blue to silver and they told me £1500, engine bay not included. I'm a bit worried that he didn't mention that the blue might show through? Seems odd to me does that! Especially for a grand and a half!

EDIT: I read that all wrong, you're all talking about the parts of the car that aren't sprayed that will look gash against the new colour... Hmm .. food for though ..

personally, i just bought a "dragon green" mk 4 and think it looks the shiz, absolutely love it.

Just an update after getting some more info. A full re-spray includes all visible paintwork including inside the doors, door sills, under bonnet, boot and also inside not including under the trim etc - basically everything that has visible existing paint on it will be changed, with the exception of the engine bay which will be left untouched.

A same colour job with parts left out will be £1100 - so not that much difference really.

The guy also uses House of Kolor paint, which look pretty snazzy to me! £1500 is for a solid or metallic finish, advanced coats will be quoted for using some overlay swatches to visualise the look.

russet brown is a mini colour i think could lok ok, probably wil have to be metallic to pull it off on such a modern car though.
