Had this for some time now, about 10 months ish;

Started like this;

Did a little of this;

Currently looking like this;

She was running a 1.6 straight denzel, now turning a 1.8 DX K-Jet lump, which has been cammed & a vernier added.

Turned a healthy 128 bhp at the Club Polo Rolling road day, which has inspired me to add a few more little trick bits.

Currently running Black Diamond (Drilled & grooved) discs, green stuff pads.

Flipped Axle & FK Konig Sports up front.

I stripped the interior & refitted with carpets, MFA, Rocco seats, Audi sport Steering wheel.

Just need to get her painted, decent exhasut on & the other wee mods to the engine to see if I can encourage any more horses out of it.

Got this little gem lined up in the wings; as a light resto jobbie...... but Caddy first!!!!

Yes fella, parked up at UD and I was amazed how many people stopped and asked about it, seems as though the "Work in progress" look gets more attention than anything else, as people just want to know what is happening with it.

Will update real soon hopefully with some good news!!!!!

Sadly the Mk1 is now no longer with me

Due to personal circumstances she has had to go.

Thankfully she has gone a good home (which I'm chuffed about) & am 100% positive that it'll come back out on the road just as 'ze Germans intended it to be, just of matter of time as to when it will be!!!

I'm sure the new owner shallt let it be too long before it returns to an upmost former glory

Right time for a major update on this one now;

A very concise look at what happened to my truck.

Originally a G Plate 1.6D

I bought the truck off a builder who had abused it & I wanted to save it.

So how she looked when I removed the engine;

She looked very sorry for herself indeed.

I decided to drop in a 1.8 DX from a 1987 Sirocco GTX.

So i rebuilt all the running gear; flipped the axle, and dropped on some KW Konigsports up front. Braking was through type 2 calipers with the vent rotors on as well. Rear brakes were also all renewed to make sure I could stop nicely.

The interior was tidied up a touch and I bolted on a few bits, sport bar, ladder rack & I was quite happy with her. I had a bit of a mission getting it all in nicely & had major fuel pump relay issues, but all got resolved.

Here she is at BVF 2007!!

Came in very handy as a camping truck..........

But I had been biten by the bug..............

Along the way I tried a trailer........

But that went else where as I finally decided what direction to go with the truck!!!

So I ran the truck for a while with the DX lump in & fine tuned some other bits along the way to make sure I was happy with how she was running.

But out of no-where I found a very low mileage;TSR DX which I quickly bought, collected & planned to drop straight into the truck.

As things happen it took a bit of time to do this but finally the day came!!!

After a little adjustment or 2, new manifolds, new inner CV joints the marriage of the new lump was complete.

The previous owner of the lump had quoteed 140bhp to me with dyno prints to back up his story. Engine had been cammed, vernier & ported & polished head. In addition he ran a 4 branch & induction system, so I knew I wouldn't be running that kind of power......but it was a goal (I had even coupled up to the original diesel exhaust!!!!!

So new engine in....again I ran it for a while to see what it was like...had a few adventures in it.........

Went to a uni reunion....everyone was very kean to show how well they were doing for themselves......so a special treat I rolled into the big smoke with my whip........Caddy met Lambo.......many laughs were had!!!

So after a little while I was pleased with the truck, it drove well, no rot on it, but was bent like a bananna.

It was never meant to go this far but I decided the truck really did deserve to be treated to alot of panel beating!!!

Nov/Dec 07 saw the truck disappear to a friends house who offered to help me out; this is what happened;-

and just before Xmas she rolled out sporting a new colour......all be it for a short tiime anyways.....

So the new year 2008 saw me rolling around with the primer.....& yes I know primer is pourous....so she lived inside.

I did manage to get her to a rolling road too.......with a new exhaust system I managed to pull a healthy 130 (at the fly) She was still running no mods or been tweaked at all, so was delighted with the results!!!!

So after a while the time came to paint......all the usual decisions, how much to strip back, what colour & all the prep that goes with it!!!!

I had loads of help from friends with this stage as I was well out of my depth of what was & wasn't possible........

So i decided to strip the thing all the way back to basics, as I thought this would be easier for the spray guy to work with.

So began to strip!!!!

Finish off one or 2 things;

and finally flat her!!!

Finally booth time!!!!

Well;

Got the truck in for paint around May 2008.

She didn't want to go really as she was too long for the trailer....a few mods to the tail boards & she was on......

24 hours after I dropped her off this is what I found.....

I was chuffed with the colour choice, was a bit nervous about it, but had my theme in my head and just wanted to see if it worked

And off she went in the shed for a few weeks to harden up & get ready for the rebuild.....

Then had a massive issue as my old fuel pump relay problem came back to haunt me!!!! Solved the problem though as water had got into the relay while we had been wet flatting. Opening the relay up & drying out in the sun soon cured the problem
