Rant over my car!!

Featured Replies

Last year i really looked after it and everything was tip top condition.

i go out there this morning to try and higher it up normally i know the coilovers will be seized and i can normally unsiexe them.

so i go about it and the first corner the ajusting ring has snapped so it wont even go up the thread....

the rest of them just wont move for shit and the ali is so corroded that hitting them witha punch just looses metal.

i havnt been inj the best of moods to work on my car l8tly I've just go no interest with it now.

the mOT is due wednesday and its not gunna pass sitting this low.

also the rear numberplate is too small. no side repeators .. it just goes on and on.

i feel like just tourching it atm :(

nah m8, couldnt be fucked

oh just wondered i passed a black valver very low wondered if it as you. any way hope you get it done, i had to put the standard wheels on to bring it back up to a reasonable height. took it up enought to get on the ramp. you could try that if you have the steels

Ahhh man that sucks.

What brand of coilovers are they?

i have a simular feeling at the moment lost alot of interest in my car bought wheels to refurbish theyve bin sat in my garage since i bought them i finished one and the other 3 are just at different stages and i cant be assed.

cars got mot next monday and i need to sort alsorts, its got a slight engine trouble that i could sort if i could be bothered but i cant!

and i feel lik just ripping out the instal that I've got because i dumped it in after ages finding parts and really havnt finished the custom box!!!

got a motorbike and prefer that alot over my car at the moment

highsports but there 3 years old now so that doesnt help. think i need to go your route and get a new car

didn't you grease them up

I always past my Mot's, even with two fubar rear wheels barings and the front brakes shagged!

They are mates so just told em to pass it and I'll carry out the work.

P20 DUB - Did you have the exhaust done at Powerflow in Basingstoke??

Get some KW's OR come over to the dark side.

So these problems have been caused by you vandalising it,and not maintaining it? Well, what can you do. Stainless coilies are available for some cars, but they're not cheap. Why they're not annodised,i dont know. As suggested above, the only way to protect galvanised threads is by greasing them, and sealing the grease in with a boot/slip,cabletied or jubilee'd sealed. A lesson for others too,me thinks.

I had exactly the same problem with my hightsports. Sized to fuck and then the rings shattered.

Canny bollocks when you pay £450 for them!

How low is too low according to the MOT?

How low is too low according to the MOT?

If you can't get on there ramps

How low is too low according to the MOT?

from what the bloke said to me when i was trying to get mine mot'ed, theres nothing to say a car has to be a certain hight to pass an mot, but if bits are scrapping on the floor or tires rubbing on arches ect, ect, then it will fail. but if the car can't get on the ramps they can't do a lot of the tests so its no go.

good luck getting it sorted mate

gay to hear craig! I had my old valver mot when it was decked and they just took it out for a road test to test the brakes and managed to get it on the ramp without damaging the car. All depends what ramp they use!

Hope it all sorts out mate!

Kam, mine hasnt got that bad yet, only split in 1 of them places so it wont turn up the thread.

i had my exhaust done at longlife in baisingstoke not powerflow.

i think I'm just gunna pursavere with it even though its fucked me off. get it into a sellable condition and move on somehow.

Got a spare set of FK Highsport adjuster rings if they are any good to you? Not perfect, but they came off a set of coilovers no problem and might help you out for now? Dunno if they are all the same diameter/thread though.

humm I'm not sure if they would be the same dude. the only 1 that has split is the rear drivers side. the actual top ring.

the aluminium they must use must be shocking to do that within 3 years. never going FK again after seeing the state they get in.

craig,,,i feel exactly the same as you mate,,,id get shut tomo given the chance.
