my gold mk1 Golf needed to be finished for the PPC Magazine Challenge at York Raceway on 14th June........i've hardly started on it

i should never had sold the orange Polo Coupe

so.....i've bought our Matt's Polo Coupe

it already has some performance mod's on it

full stainless Powerflow exhaust,

Lowered 40mm,

Gas shocks,

Vented front disks & Golf GTI calipers,

plan is to fit my 1.4 ABD/GT motor to it, strip the interior and fit my bucket seats

got completly black 6x13 ATS Classic's (off a Manta) going on it

yup......their doing 2 sprint's this time (1 sprint, 1 drag last time).....so i should be higher up the leaderboard this time (6th last year)

i need my brother Matt to do some welding/painting on the gold mk1 Golf and he's not got the time

he has too many job's on......mk1 Fiesta, another Caddy, Camper van......plus job's he's doing for other people

...but i like doing trackdays and i've been on the grass at Elvington at pretty high speeds a couple of times & if the car was lower than -40mm i'd loose the exhaust or sump

yup Royal Blue.....our Matt did a full re-spray a few weeks before he bought a Caddy and left the Polo in my yard

it's a great base for a 1.4 ABD/GT.......bit to nice bodywork wise, i wanted a tatty car really, this ones a bit too nice to use for trackdays

stuck my wheels on & stuck some amber indicators in

putting my bucket seats once there cleaned next week

took part in the Practical Performance Car Magazine £999 Challenge at York Raceway today

ran 28.663 on the slalom......rubbish

did far better on the quarter mile....... 16.410 (best i've run in this car) :-D

0-60mph was 8.42 (best i've run in this car) :-D

ran the quarter against a Pug 106 XSi & wasted it

also did 3 runs against an Uno Turbo.......beat him twice, all 3 runs we were right along side each other as we pasted the finish line

don't know what place i came.....deffo not top 10

they had to shorten the track due to the rain.......timing gear only counts til 31 seconds
