hey trying to sell my valver as i dnt see the point spending over £500 point to sort out the paint work that come off when i took the sidestrips off.

anyway i was thinking of getting either:

- saxo VTR

- 106 quicksilver

- an old shape corsa sport or an mg zr

but i dnt know which one i should get I'm edging towards the vtr but I've herd the engines in them are renown for breaking down.

what do you guys think i should buy and please dnt say another valver as dnt want to sell my car for one the same.

If you can find a good VTR I'd maybe go for that, but it seems they are all fucked these days. 106 Quiksilvers are dog slow. I like the Corsa Sports, would be tempted by one but the Corsa Bs like to rust well. MG ZRs... Everything is good about them apart from their reliability. IMO they are fun to drive, handle well, even the 100 bhp ones are fairly nippy. But they do gearboxes as regularly as Mk4 Polos.

If you get a VTR you will find it alot different to drive than the valver.

They arent quick and you have to really give them shit to get them to go anywhere.

Personally (and i cant believe I'm saying this) but out of that list I'd go for the Corsa Sport.

I'll sell you a VTR with a shagged engine though if you want?

how much cash do you have to play with bearing in mind you all to pay insurance and possibly for any repairs to those cars and being rice mobiles they are going to be thrashed and need stuff changing.

ask yourself why you really need to change, and are these cars really going to have you on the edge of your seat compared to a valver or even compared to a snail, seems like an unneccssary expense for not alot of power gain

id go for corsa sport

good on insurance too

You're bored (How much for paint? I dunno where you got a monkey from). Well,changing to a fragile biscuit tin will certainly sort that out. Might aswell go the whole way,and get a Seicento Sporting. As fun as the Saxo,only stronger.. Forget Fiestas,they all rusted away,got replaced with plates. You could get a mint MK2 Golf GTi,but maybe you need to make the mistake you're headed for.

corsa sports are cheap, and quick and fairly reliable. i used to love my old 1.6 one, and it only cost me £950 to insure when i was 18. my mate has a well looked after 1.4 that is randomly really really fast lol. dont think id sell the valver for one though

106 rallyes are coooooool aswell, but again id prob rather have the VW

if youre bored do what mikey says and get a mint golf gti

also, dont get a VTR. they're slow, badly made and just generally shit. at least with 106 rallyes they spotted the problems early and removed most of the stuff from inside it anyway

I've HAD a saxo vtr, and at the time i loved it. it handled like a go kart, nice exhaust rasp and was pretty nippy!!

then i started having problems, when revved to around 5k the battery light would come on, then another day driving along to some lights, dipped the clutch and it just cut out...so i got rid for me megane coupewhich i loved, then wish i'd have kept the rugged vtr

now, if i only had enough money for a saxo then i'd get one, if i had the choice between a saxo or something else, i'd go for the something else.....

as for corsas, i think they're great little cars, mrs had a corsa merit for almost 3 years without even so much as a service and it never let her down(untill she left the bloody interior light on)..... cant say much for the sport version but thats gotta be just as reliable and nippy too, i just hate the drab interiors all vauxhalls have.....

106.... same as saxo, different badge......

mg zr, cracking little cars, just watch out for the head gasket going as its common problem due to rover making head gaskets out of plastic, not the cleverest of ideas they came up with...howevere there is an upgrade kit available just if your worried.

after my megane coupe got rear ended and wrote off i was looking into an mgzr, but the head gasket thing wasnt something i could risk, so instead got the polo! best thing i ever did!

and as MG are the same as rovers , and the sayin goes

keeping it now carnt get what i want for it so not letting it go id perfer waste money (as the old man says lol) doing it up than let it got for peanuts.

so think i just going sell my backbox as it hangs dead low get it lowerd and then try find a spray place that can sort me out with a full respray ad get rid of all the rust.

just finding somwhere that is going do the job propley without charging a bomb. guotes I'm getting are for about £500 but thats without taking the lights or windows out and only sanding dwn where the rust is. sorry i dnt know the foggyest when it comes to painting cars but i would have thought the windws and lights would have to come off.

he did sa sumthing about spraying up to the findows and just masking the windows but will this last or will i need it doing again after 12months.
