195/45/15 on a 7J

Featured Replies

Would this give any stretch at all? Also wondering if 195/45/15 is the lowest sidewall height that is practical. I've heard 195/40/15's do exist but they are hard to find and also read about problems with the sidewall being too small

u want 165-50-15 on a 7 !

gives a nice strech mouse :p

i still think a 165/50 tyre on a 7j rim looks shit, mouse you wont get any stretch at all really on a 7j rim with that tyre combo but i would run that size time and time again, so m uch so I'm gonna get the same size in 14s for my next set of 7j rims (195/45 that is)

I'm running 165/50/ on my 7J fronts the now... and I think it looks awesome!

Before that I had 195/45 and it had no stretch what so ever!... It's up to you though

i think they look good heres some pics mouse!

if you saw the back of adskivws polo with the 7j rims and 165/50s on you would have pissed yourself laughing, it looked like a bicycle tyre.

195/45 on a 7j will give you plently of arch clearance, but its your choice at the end of the day and its down to personal preferance

That's the thing, I don't want stretch lol! The trouble with 15" wheels is a 45 sidewall looks crap compared to a 40 on a 16" wheel

I'd probably just go for 195/45 :D

can someone help me?

if i put stretched tyres on my rims, r they safe or could they come off? people av told me they r nt safe????

There safe bud... unless you go for some seriously stupid stretch, chances are they wont fit on the rim anyways

I knew straight away people would suggest 165/50 even tho its exactly what you didn't ask for

195/45 will be the lowest most practical tyre I can think of.

What about the 185/45 nankang NS2's? I've heard there a decent tyre... the lads on E38 seem quite keen on em!! I think theres a couple of 200hp+ motors runnin em too!

^^^^ is this serious, they give a decent stretch but i had them on my old car and nankangs dont get me wrong respect them as they give a cheap tyre that last for ages so good value for money but they are like plastic the worst handling tyres IMO of course  id stick with a decent low profile 195/45 gets you the best grip aswell

mouse min, what wheels you got in the pipeline eh?

If i remember correctly you are running a certain set of 16s just now
