I finally got myself a mk3 GT after months of searching for a car. I one came up on a local dub club site.

Got lots of plans for it. Has loads of potenial. I like the name of the paint "brilliant black" really nice as well.

Watch this topic as it will slowly but surly be updated when i put new stuff on it and thigns change.

Model: mk3 GT coupe

Engine: 1.3 GT. With Custom made (second hand purchase) adaptor with K & N induction kit. Stainless steel 4-2-1 de-cat exhaust manifold. And PSD raised limiter chip. Solid metal engine mount. Remus back-box.

Suspension: FK lowering kit 70mm, G-Laderseite ARB blocks, and home made rear strut brace. PPP Stage 2 subframe

Brakes: STANDARD

Wheels and Tyres: Now running KN Diamonds 195/45/14.

Exterior Styling: De-badged grille, smoked sidereapters, and tinted clear indicators. De-wipered boot lid

Interior Styling: Standard

ICE and Security: Panasonic cd headunit, Hertz 3 1/2" front speakers and Diamond Audio 6.5" components and the rear

Cheers people, the colour according to the paint code is Brilliant Black, which looks like a very dark metallic silver/grey.

LA9V? If so that's the best colour

Looks identical to my car, good choice!

Obviously the first thing to do is get it sitting right, and change the alloys for some golf gti steels with the same tyres.

Awesome! Pretty dapper interior too Non poverty spec front seats an all! . . very nice. The boys our way may be going to Spring fest next weekend, dunno if i can, but they'll be up for a convoy if your going?

That looks a really nice and very tidy example indeed.

I don't normally like aftermarket alloy wheels on Polo's, but those really look pretty good IMO. They could do with a proper clean though! They are a decent size and have the correct size (and good quality) tyres fitted which is a deffinate bonus.

Though I don't like to jump on the bandwagon, it does need the suspension lowering and sorting out to make the most of the looks (and handling of course!).

What mileage has it done, the interior looks unworn and very clean too? Personally, I really don't like the late model interior trim colour though, but hey thats just me I think 'cause everyone else seems to rave on about it!

cheers poeple, Yeha the suspension will be going and been swapped for a lowering kit.

Its done 116K miles. Just pics HAVE done the inside some justice, the back seats stiching has slightly come away that its, but it really need a dam good clean, lots of dog hair still lurking about.

There are a few scratchs on the paint out side with the normal parking dents here and there but generally kool. The worst bit is a smallish patch of laquer peel on the o/s rear 1/4 but i will get that done whens funds allow. but the mechanics are the most important bit to me atm. once everything is set ie strut braces, lowering kit, engine tweeks then the bodywork will be spruced up.

Bought the first thing for it to day, A set of Bosch 4 point sparky plugs. Dead exciting lol.

wont be here during the week, away at college so things will be on hold on this thread from me and nowt will be done to the car, but proberly think up some more stuff to do to it whilst i am away. lol

right its not much of an update but its the first step to gettnig up to scratch.

Just bought some service bits, oil, oil filter, air filter plugs and a small 50ml of redex cleaner.

I no there is no pictures, but once this is out the way there will be more updates and pictures.

i know i haven't updated this for a whle, been buzy with other stuff.

I gave the car a dam good t-cut on the weekend. I know its not a proper update but the car is on the road as of Thursday so i will be doin more to the car then.

oh and i got a set of new reg plates form the gti fest and put them on the other week. looks nicer now

Update 3, 9/7/2008

Right got some bits from the GTI fest last weekend, smoked side repeaters, clear indicators and Badgeless grille. Also i ordered my lowering kit from VolksBikts from the show (very helpful and super fast delivery) it's an FK 70mm kit. So if its not raining on the weekend i well make a start.

The day before the show i de-wipered the boot lid, looks loads better as well.

I have lightly tinted the clear indicators, but in two minds weather to do the headlights, as it looks cool as it is.

yeah, i am just not certain weather to do the headlights yet or not, i'll see what i feel like later.

I think if you lower it and put on some 20mm wheel spacers front and rear that will be looking absolutely perfect!!

Update no.4

WOOOP!!! got the lowering kit on, its an FK 70mm kit shocks and springs. Did it on the road as well, started late yesterday afternoon, got the back done, and got half the fronts. Left it over night on axle stands and carried on today. Looks so much better.
