Some canny gaps to fill but should be clear of any wheels and tyre combination but in true retro I will stick with 13".

Looks good David- I cut the inner skin and folded it up to the outer and then welded them together, either way works, although I expect you'll get more clearance.

Look forward to seeing finished pics 8-)

I'm kind of keen to keep joints and edges to a minimum to maintain maximum corrosion resistance, and its just as easy for me to whack a piece into the arch in one go. I thought about cutting and folding but I would have had just as much welding. .......... believe me I'm looking forward to seeing it finished more than you !!!! ........... but I'm so excited :-)

looking good mate I remember doing mine.

It's like a leap of faith........... No going back ........ You stand looking and thinking but in the end if you want it you got to do it......... I love my 4" grinder

Top work David, I've not worked on mine for months now

To much other crap going on!

That is gonna look amazing!! Keep up the good work!! What 13" rims you going for? Better be WIDE!!

If you get fed up with 13's some nice BBS RS 15" splits would look pimp...

Chris ........

I,m in FGW next Tuesday ...... Do you know a guy called Adair from Ballymeana ? ...... wheels will be 7x13's et 20 front and et 3 rear - mataigs painted black with wet's and 7x13's et -7 Superlites with slicks and I'm looking for a set of 7x13 et -7 classics for the road.

Jez

Engine is sorted except for a little bracket to hold my crank sensor. Megajolt is fully wired but not in the car, 40's are fully jetted up with development jets and a stack of alternatived ready for the rolling road. cage is fully welded in although I 'm thinking about a brace between the strut tops but low and across the bulkhead behind / under the carbs. I have just ordered one of these little gems........

Pinches has one of them bad boys.

Hmm not sure about Adair, maybe if I knew his first name?! Just Ballymena's a big place in all honesty. What age is the fella Adair and what does he do? FGW as in FG Wilson?

What spec is this beast? See it's on 40's, that a 3F or an ABU engine then?

Thanks for that Kam ...... Ill see if he's up this way and ask if I can have a look at the quality etc. He seems to have disapeared for a while ........ I understand he's on a placement somewhere.

I have to take the 1.05 out of my mk3 when I get a chance to fit a new gasket, but a clean and a coat of paint would look great too I think!! That AFH looks insane, guessing the AFH is the Lupo GTI block?

You never told me that dude Adair's first name or what he works as, I might know him if I you describe him!!

AFH is the 1.4 16v Polo Lump in the 6N

Ah right I see... lot of things need modified to make it fit then I bet?!

Oooooo that cutting is nuts, the point of no return.

Gear shifter looks like a fair bit of kit.

i think he just has vertical handbrake hasnt he?

arches are going to look good, the first cuts always do look drastic, that engines looks gorgeous too, will be a right screamer

good to see my arches going to a good home!

wish i could have had the chance to fit them myself! never got round to making that first cut!

looks good mate! keep up the pictures!

Just found this topic, had a little read through. What happened this project, you give up or just been too busy? Read your comment about FG Wilson there, my mate started there about 2 months ago, his names Dave Johnston, bit of a madhead, drives a green mk2 Golf GTI, nice machine!! How'd the Berg'ing the arches go?
