No seriously, several pointers

Lower the center of gravity: Slam it and put wider wheels on (or have wheels poke out more)

Decrease body roll : Get stiffer suspension (coilovers seem to be the shiz for a 6n) at cost of the smooth ride

Stiffen the chassis: Ged, strut brace etc

I dont own a 6N so i dont know the specific / best things to do but thats pretty much the basics.

Eibach anti-roll bars f&r,coilovers,tuned negative-bias camber,polybushes,and 195x45x16 tyres are certainly gonna help a 6n handle. As would removing some weight.

can you get 16s on without arch work or rubbin

some decent coilovers (fk konigsport), set of good quality tyres (no strtch bollocks) set of H&R anti roll bars, maybe some pwereflex bushes on the wishbone's/rear axles..

15's are an ideal size for a 6n

the ged braces dont fit the 6n's. only the mk1/mk2/mk3

If you actually used a low profile tyre then you'd easily get lower than 40mm on a 6n on 15s.

16v 6ns do handle. Lower models don't. Get a rear ARB, stiffen the suspension up with a good quality kit, and you'll be sorted.

Also, lots of body roll does not necessarily mean your handling is shit. Removing body roll completely is pointless. I still have a small amount of body roll on my Golf and thats all the way down on coilies (like most people's ).

Some people will say slamming your car to the deck will make it handle shit. If you stick to tyres with a decent amount of sidewall and good quality coilovers, it will be fine.

FK Highsports. Get them.

for good handleing get some KYB sr ultra shocks (they are bump and rebound non adjustable and will cost £240 for all 4) and a set of eibach springs (pro-kit will cost £135)

a good set of eibach springs should keep you happy... :)

and if you still not happy .. strut braces... front and back...

are you sure your shock absorbers aint leaking... because usually that can cause a car to have shit handling too.. look into it..

the set-up i had on my last polo was

Bilstein Shockers all round

and

Eibach Pro Kit springs.... (-30mm)

it was so smoothh...... couldnt feel a bump.... and the handling was there... was able to do like 45 round a roundabout... (not encouraging it lol)

so what is the beta setu FK Highsports coilies or Bilstein Shockers and Eibach Pro spring thanks

Cant stress the importance of a good anti-roll bar setup. Transferring a higher percentage of the cars weight into the tyre that needs the most grip is what they do best. The bushes are the first place to start - usually tired and worn soft rubber. And good quality dampers will keep the tread properly engaged with the road surface,make sure they're gas instead of oil,and you get what you pay for.

No mate i dont think anti roll bar kits come with tyres!

Id highly recommend just buying a set of Weitec or KW coiliovers (or any decent quality kit), dropping them to about 60 front, 40 back, and a set of good quality tyres for a start. With just this youll notice a MASSIVE improvement, then you can a add a little extra to the handling with uprated anti roll bars, and strut braces, and polyurethrane bushes.

Stripping your car out is always a cheap improvement aswell, if a little impractical!

All these performance upgrades will make your tyres wear down quicker yes, but only if you drive it fast, if you dont want to wear through tyres then dont drive it fast, simple.

Gas not oil?? the gas is there to stop the oil from foaming. Unless its a torsion bar or very rare electromagnetic damper they all have oil.

Gas assisted i believe is the term you are looking for
