Fitting 17" 5 stud BMW replica wheels

Featured Replies

Hi - I'm looking to fit 17" bmw replica wheels with 215x40x17 tyres to my 1990 mk2 polo but they are 5 stud. The hubs on there at the moment are 4 stud and i was wondering if there was any way of fitting 5 stud hubs to my car. If anybody knows if this is possible could you recommend which hubs would work.

Thanks Dave

youre going to need adapters depending on what studs the BMW wheels are and if they exist? if not then you will need to get some adapters made up

It's more hassle than its worth considering the wheels won't physically fit in the arches!

Yeah - they fitted 17's to a mk2 polo wagon on 'pimp my ride uk'. OK....so they put a body kit on too, but it was one that fitted used the origional arches. The wagon doesnt have arches on the back, so they had to put some new ones on but the alloys should fit under the standard ones. I think the pictures are on the mtv uk website - its from season 2. My polo's a coupe that has the arches front and back so i think it could work......any ideas??

erm.... still no!

You'll struggle... and you definately won't be able to use 215/40s.

215/40s no way, 165/40s you might get away with.

I wouldn't be able to run 215/40-17s on my Golf, and my arches are fucking HUGE

Also, seeing as BMWs are rear drive, I would assume they have a fairly low offset, which becomes a problem when you are using adaptors too. You're gonna need 165/40s if they're gonna go on.

dont even attempt it, it aint gunna happen without spending money

which you might as well spend on getting the correct car attached to the wheels.

KiZ

This man has the right idea!
