Well guys finally got around to giving my headlights the Smoked effect using Rolo's guide.

Here's some pics!

Looking at the pics of other peoples smoked lights, they seem black paint seems to blend more and give a more smoked effect whilst mine look more defined, which i'm not too keen on!

you can do the top and bottom sections too just not the sides i think

I normally just do the bottom section or they look a bit to dark.

well i took Kam's suggestion and only painted the bottom

And also sprayed the indicators, hope they are more transparent when they are dry!

uww now they are dark! hope they turn out ok for you dude :p

rain isn't giving me much chance to get them back in!!

well anyway, the silicon needs about 18hrs to set, so i'll pop them back in 2moz!

Total time taken (ATM)

Day1

1 hr to heat up, remove lens, then cool down

30mins to paint

3hrs or so to set (too late to do anymore painting)

Day2

10 mins for 2nd layer of paint

(went back to work for 3hrs)

10mins to silicon lenses back in

2hrs to let it set (which i found out wasn't enough!

10mins more to resilicon

now waiting (and havin a beer or two)

I was just coming back to say you should paint over where the glue used to be as well. So it comes right up to the edges

I've got some left over engine paid from when i paintted a rocker cover, so brushed that on!

hammerite satin black spray paint, just sprayed inside where you would normally put the bulb.

do it very thin so thats its still transparent

I normally paint it then put translucent bathroom sealer on it
