Yep it is a really great experience... but it can be a very dangerous place not just for yourself and others on the track, but your wallet to, if you get it wrong... and people often do!

But to show there are a few polos out there...

I'm going to drive there this year in my mini! theres a website called silverringrally that did a mini run there and back including a lap of silverstone on the way, all for charity, maybe arrange something similar :)

That blue Square lives very local to the 'Ring, I've seen it there every time I've been!

I can't give much more advice than has already been given, other than join ADAC (the German breakdown recovery company), as if the worst happens and you break down or wipeout on the 'Ring they will recover you for free (as opposed to paying 300-odd Euros!!).

If you're not bothered about hotels and are happy to rough it then I can't recommend Camping Am Nurburgring enough. Its literally a 5 minute drive from the entrance and is about 10 minutes away from Adenau (where the nearest shopping area is). Its 12 Euros a night per person there.

Last time I took my Vauxhall-engined Mini for 5 days and spent about £500 including quite a few laps (:)), food, drink and driving to the nearest large town (20 miles ish) to buy more stuff.

I would book it all yourself.. its very simple. Choose your weekend/days by checking out the Calendar.

Then choose how you want to cross the water, and then book you hotel/campsite. All that is left for you to do is get your ring ticket which you do when you get to the track :)

edit.... unless its cheaper to do it via a tour group :)
