i used to try and push for 250miles per tank in my Cupra ..did manage to get 280 once i think lol, but normally i was looking at around 230miles. i know its a differnt car but same abf engine ...hope this helps.

now with my 1.4 polo in on 260miles and still got quite a bit left hehe w00t

Fail. The only thing that lessens the appeal of a forum is the sheer number of poorly conceived threads...ooo like this one.

Right ok, so i abolish every person on this forum that asks questions about their car who is not willing to extensively search internet, and we will have a fully used forum? i do not think so. The fact is you might as well have one section 'general chat' if that was the case. You can find out the answer to most feasible questions on the internet, but in most peoples eyes forums are a good informative source they can use!

People treat forums like some sort of open encyclopaedia where they can ask questions willy nilly and expect to receive answers. It's just laziness. The information is readily available across the internet, you don't need to be spoon fed.

Want to work out how much money you need for fuel...go look up the manufacturers MPG for your car. Take an average price of petrol say... £1.05/litre. Engage brain and do some maths. Then add on some extra cash just in case your car isn't running right...even then you might be well off. It's such a silly question to ask.

That or just assume it'll do 30MPG as a worst case average...Or fill it up using a credit/debit card so you don't need to work it out...

Forums are here to be used....but some peoples interpretation of the word 'used' can be very different...

Users should make threads that have some worth and contribute meaningful ideas/information to the community. Not fill it with inane pap.

Ah so again u want me to use the internet, like i did... but to no avail, u must think i just came on and typed it 'willy nilly' well your wrong. I tried the most obvious resources to get my answer but it didnt work, i had JUST bought the car and had never filled it or drove it and i wanted to know how much it would cost me to get to the pod and back, i think it was jusitified to utilise this forum.

Yeah the copious amounts of Mk3 Golf GTi owners on the Polo forum were going to come running in with answers...

Two minutes on Google and I've found all the tech data for the car inc. fuel tank size and average fuel consumption figures. Surprisingly I learn it can be more frugal than the 8v version...effort...

Oh...edit...2 more minutes and I've got the price of a fuel tank...
