I checked out this Venom Motorsport place cos had heard it mentioned on here a few times, and saw a load of suspension stuff that looked quite good. just wondered if anyone had any experience of any of the products?

Alltho i suspect the Venom ones are generic unbranded stuff???

I had the Suspension i was gettin sorted was gonna go for the KONI STRT jobs because have heard lots of good things about em and i dont want a rock solid ride.

but as i keep hearing the 35mm drop would look hardly any different....

want around 40 - 60 mm really... cos eventually its getting some 15" x 7" with 195.45.r15 tyres and i dont want scrubbing issues cos speed bumps r a beast round here

o yeh and i want a quality setup, not something cheap.

and that requires minimal maintenance thats not gonna corode or break after a year of having it

i'm running viper springs and shocks 70/70 and 15" 6.5j on a mark 3 its a good kit with a nice drop but still a decent ride, i'd recommend them.

if you maintain them correctly i.e. grease them up properly you will be fine.

only really fancy coilovers so that i can adjust to my hearts content... once it looks right thats it...

Yep, the ride on my Highsports is more than adequate, it's less bangy and crashy than standard! I think it would surpass the standard setup for ride quality by far if I wasn't so low.

FK Highsports - coilovers. They are good quality and ride well, I got mine second hand and had been used on a track car for ages and are still fine with no leaky shocks or anything like that. About £400 new or so I would think? People who don't look after them will have rust issues as they are mild steel.

If you are only going to be down 40 to 60mm I wouldn't bother with coilovers though. You DO need to spend a fair wedge of cash to get a decent ride on coilies. Eibach go-low springs if they are available for the 6n drop between 50 and 60mm and have an outstanding ride and being progressive firm up nicely round corners. Shock wise I'd go for damping adjustable Konis depending on your budget.

Problem with the Koni ones is that the kits are up to 40mm only mostly 35mm for 6n...

Could get seperate shocks and springs but dont wanna knacker out nice new shocks by slapping on springs that are too low for em

the + with coilovers is that i can fuck about with the ride height as much as i like till i get what i want

its all down to how much you wanna spend i only had a couple hundred to spend as i had to do bodywork on the gte but the venoms are a nice stance and decent ride i live right on the sea and with commen sense maintenence they are lasting really well but if you can spend more its always the best idea to get the best you can afford

i bought a copy of Performance VW the magazine

and theres an advert in there for VENOM morotsport with what looks like cheaper prices on nearly everything????

is this simply a ploy to get you to call up..??? But surely they have to charge you the price they have advertised!!!

ALSO.... i spotted some more stuff on there

for example the FK AK Supertech Coilovers .... anyone know anythig about these????

they are really quite cheap as in less than 250 quid and there made by FK????

highsports are also in at £340 !!!! which seems really cheap

also the Apex shock& spring kits are in at just £200
