Right after trawling through all i could find on this subject last night, there appears to be a huge loophole in this.

A "matched pair" is a pair of lamps which

. both emit light of substantially the same colour and intensity, and

. are both the same size and shape, so that they are symmetrical to one another.

Note: Pre 1st January 1931 Vehicles

For vehicles that are fitted with one or two optional headlamps;

. where one is fitted it must dip

. where two are fitted, either both must dip or one must dip and the other switches off.

This is taken off the MOT testers handbook, further searching (even looking at commercial vehicles) states that they must be the same colour but it does not designate what that colour happens to be.

The reason I'm looking at this is that i have 3000K (Yellow) H4 in my mk3 and am arming myself against any happy coppers.

Anyone else care to give there opinion?

I just happened to look it up for a friend a few days ago, so knew where it was! :)

Personally I'd say you will be okay with yellow lights. I ran them for about a year or so and never got hassle once.

Did you visit north wales and Dyfed-Powys Police area's in that time? hahaha.
