Thought I'd stick up the progress of my build, its no show car, as thats not my thing, but I've always liked the squareback shape, and had some ideas going round in my head that I'm finally putting into action...

Base car was a tired old F plate off ebay, but with T&T I thought it was worth a bid, in the end I won it for £100, went to pick it up, wouldnt start, knackered carb, but managed to get it going and drove it home, drove pretty well...

Already had some bits kicking about for it, philJ suspension and some 8x13 allycats, 1.6 ABU lump and some R6 carbs, so a few weekends ago, I started to put my plan into action....

Stripped the rear out and prepped it for paint, not really done much bodywork before but as I said its no show car, just abit of fun for me and my son over the summer, so I got stuck in...

Always liked the van look, so tracked down some van panels...

Some minor arch work to do!

Smoothed to boot...

Did the arches.... with some camber shims, think I should be able to run it nice and low, also swapped rear suspension for coilovers..

Thats about as far as I've got, both rear 1/4's in paint (I'm leavin it red oxide btw!) rear panel and inside the rear painted, and a few coats on the roof. Next I'll be doing door shuts and doors, also decided to run early mk1 polo bumpers, which should be on their way from Germany now... will update as I go, thanks for looking. :)

ypu could get som Mk1 golf arches for the back that would make it nice and wide ??

Thanks guys, i went with red oxide, as I'm using rattle cans, I dont have a compressor and I'm no painter, the primer is easier to get a finish with too, and touch up at a later date.

Mk1 arches look good, but I like the square arch, its part of the character of the cars I think...

is that a bmw i spy in the bakround ?

what tyres/camber you running?

Tyres are 175.50.13 539's, no camber yet, probly run bout 3 degrees..

It is my E30 in the background, m30 swap, 3.5l, 220bhp, LSD, lots of fun!

Thanks for the kind words, rims are Rota Grid, drift edition, jap fitment but I had adaptors made to fit em...

I'm collecting parts to turbo it at the mo...

mad man with the 8s on a bready and retaining the shape of the original arches, they do give it the character and its lost a little with mk1 golf arches although they do look good

and yessss to the rotas on the beemer, fat as fook, rota do some proper nice 4 x 100 wheels

Havnt done a thread on the e30 anywhere, , its pretty stock tbh, 80mm suspension drop, rims, sport LSD and the lump out of a 735.. shell is 318is with SE sideskirts, carbon dtm mirrors, thats bout it apart from early m3 seats....

Its red oxide, camera makes it look brighter tho...., rust wasnt too bad, its had a sill on it, at last mot, and I've swapped boot and the doors for some pretty good one's I had kicking about, bonnet dinted so am gonna get a grp one....

Love the E30. Polo is looking pretty sweet as well.

The E30 is the reason why I'm getting a black 318is in January. Proper love them. Brother had a 325 touring, black with black leather. Hes trying to buy it back now lol.
