Fixing my bumper

Featured Replies

What would be the cheapest way to fix this:

Some idiot bumped into my car in the night and drove off (not sure how fast they were driving) it was parked quite far back from a junction and some ones come round the corner and hit it.

best bet is new bumper from a scrappy

Yeh but thats gonna cost a lot for a 5" crack (the bit thats taped would of fell out)

And because its a 16v its got body coloured bumpers so I've gotta find a black car not just any old one.

just put a bit of tape on it - its a corsa ffs

You need a new bumper, or try and plastic weld it back together then fill and smooth down, then prime and spray it, but id recommend looking around your scrappy for another one...

You may notice if you looked closely at it - its already got tape on it. And I put 'corsa content' so if you don't like corsas don't bother looking. I can't afford a different car right now... Saving to live with my boyfriend is more important than a car right now which is why I want a quick and easy fix.

I'm going to try some glue that I sell at work tomorrow and see if that works - if not I will begin trawling the scrap yards - anyone know any local to Bury St Edmunds?? (other than Risby which only has a red corsa)

Thanks for acknowledging my post, by the looks of it the area around the crack is scuffed aswell am I right? if so just leave the tape on cause its not gonna make much difference unless you get it properly sorted..

Yea I meant more tape, and no I didnt see the corsa bit, and didn't really expect it as I saw the post info on the main page. How did you notice I don't like corsas?? lol fair enough about the saving thing, surely tape is enough then :p

This isn't a dig at you but the bumpers on Corsas are made of the shittest quality plastics known to man... you'll never sort that out properly, more tape is the best option.

I agree. Looks in a bad way tbh I would say wack some more tape on until you stumble across anothe rin a scrappy. Those cracks would be major weak points if you got it repaired

try looking on a corsa site for a cheap secondhand one

If you take the front bumper off and put duct tape up the inside to straighten the crack out, then get the bodyshop to use fibreglass or filler (I honestly dont know which they use sorry) and get it sprayed in.

Also try and find some CCTV footage or something on who did it?!!!!!!!!!!!

look on ebay for a black one,,,youll find some little barry thats put a ''PREDITORVEILSIDETERMINATOR'' kit on his corsa and wants rid of his standard gear because he thinks its shit.

LMAO @ R1CH. Id keep checking the scrappys etc. Best option.

corsa site = corsa help

polo site = polo help

catch my drift!!!!

Saving to live with my boyfriend is more important than a car right now

this is your problem, prioritise better please
