Oil around the spark plugs

Featured Replies

Was chaging the spark plugs on my run-around/mums car at the weekand and round the tops of the spark plugs on cyclinders 1 and 2 there was a bit of oil. Not loads but enough to completely cover the threads on cyclinder 2 plug when i took the plug out. The ends of the spark plugs are ok so the oil hasn't got down to the combustion chamber...

What could cause this, just a tiny gap in the rocker cover seal? Engine is 1.4 16v....

Sometimes this happens when a bit of oil is spilt on the rocker clover and runs down to were the spark plug sits, as long as it doesn't go down the hole or is on the probe's themselves you shouldn't get to worried!

Doubt its a spillage tbh...

but as long as it ain't pissing out i'm just gonna leave it and monitor the oil level
