Hi mate liking the progress on your car got a quick question. Whats the car handle like with the subframe compared to before?

best description is sketchy and vague on bends, didn't really have the trust to throw it around like i do know.

I only remember what it was like after driving the mk2 we also have here, didnt do over 40 on roads that I happily do 60 on

In my view it changes the handling greatly over stock but it all depends on what other cars/setups your used to driving.

Well I've had loads of different cars but i just want the car to feel more driveable.

Its on h&r cup suspension 35mm drop but will most likely buy the stage2 because i dont want coilovers

Agree with Polomon.

I have fairly stiff dampers (no coil overs) so they stop any body roll. and i rather the setup over the ARB. If anything the ARB setup is the main cause of the dodgy/vaugue handling of a stock polo.

There was someone on here that fitted a stage 3 frame with stock/soft dampers and then complained the handling went to shit, so i would suggest a stiffish setup (possibly not as stiff as mine as even ddo I'm happy with it my passangers dont like it )

Yep. they do, and yes I've already looked into adding one.

The big bar at the front is part of the stage 3 subframe, replace the ARB and sorts out the various oddities the stock setup do when cornering at speed.

Have a look PPP on here for them, mines a PPS (polo3) item so looks slightly different.

Right how much you recon it would cost mate?

when I got mine they were about £350ish. now id say your looking at over £400.

I'm pulling mine off in a few weeks to replace bolts and washer in the wishbones and re-sleeve the elbow joints that connect the front arms to the rear ones.

Spent 600quid on suspension already and i dont want a hard as nails ride as i did before.

Would love to go out in a stage2-3 car to compare though..

My setup is stiff but not as crashy as some ARB'ed setup cars I've been in, just takes most passengers time to adjust from there own cars soft bouncy suspension.

Mate's one feels like it has no suspension travel whatsoever and hitting small potholes is like driving into a wall. Mine actually has some suspension travel and damping.

Like the lamps mate car looks pretty cool.

Looks sweet with the fog lamps, imagine if you wired them and the lamps in the grille up to the full beams, it would be like a miniature truck.

The Grill lamps were wired up to the mains but using LED bulbs need to make a tidier soldered loom for them and they will be back in or ill HID them as well.

I think I could do with some brighter lights. I drove past like five cars last week with my full beams on and I didn't get flashed or beeped at by any of them .

They were kind of made redundant by the HID's, the only problem with fitting HID's into a full beam lamp is the dont take well to constant on/off action and either the bulb fails or the ballast burns out.

They did have a set of pace car lights in them for a bit.

Yep, was on the cards about 2 years ago. Just never had the funds to finish it.

looking sweet , only thing i dont like is the bottom part of the doors black but loving the tinted lights :)
