Here are a few of my pics from the weekend. A few, meaning quite a few.

I've stuffed some in from the road trip so it isn't all track photos.

Our convoy was four MX-5s and two Polos, so any pics of Polos and MX-5s are cars I went out with.

The first of many drifting M3s seen on the weekend. Such a good sight! Yes that's a CSL, it's just been sprayed white.

This was taken on Sunday. We saw it understeer onto the grass at Adenauer Forst on Monday, then heard it bounce off the armco a bit further down the track. Expensive.

Yeah we keep seeing threads like these. I'm thinking 3 or 4 days at the 'ring would make for an awesome summer holiday. I was thinking of going to NYC again...but this is tickling my fancy a little more. Good pics Alex, I presume you had a blast? Did you whip the stop watch out of curiosity between the old bridge and gantry?

Hell no. I had no plans to get into that anyway, my priority being getting the car to the track, around it a few times and back home without breaking it or crashing. It's a big track, and I wasn't looking to push myself. Plus with all the rain it'd hardly be worth it, I got a fair amount of wheelspin with only small prods of the throttle, grip varies around the track.

The funny thing is though, you set off thinking you're doing a quiet lap. You're driving around, and other traffic is overtaking you. Pile into a corner and suddenly you start thinking there's no grip. But there is. You suddenly realise you're actually hammering around faster than you'd ever drive on the roads. Then you realise, actually there's quite a bit of grip. It's very deceptive, and I think that's why people crash, they don't realise just how hard they're pushing.

I'm a fair few laps off knowing it, many more off being able to drive it properly, so I think a few more trips are in order. But believe me, slow laps on such a challenging circuit are quite an experience! My mouth went completely dry within a minute or so on track, and you have to be totally on the ball.

My camera's a Lumix DMC FZ-20, not an SLR but it has all the functions of one. Good camera.

Kinell, you'd be lethal with a DSLR then.

One day, yeah. At the moment this one's doing me just fine :)

I've got an SLR but it's not a digital one, so I've been tinkering with camera settings for years.
