Golf Mk 1 - unfinished project

VW Golf mk1 GTI Green 1.8 8v 1983 - for sale (was going to restore, but changed Jobs and moved to Scotland, Just needs Carpet and front seats putting in and a little work for MOT)

The car started life as a 1.3 driver and is still that on the log book

The 1.8 8v engine, needs setting up (only issue with the engine to be honest). Starts and Drives

The car run really well with no starting, fueling, water, and oil issues at all. The head is still in excellent condition, no damage at all

Bad parts – Front Screen surround has rust - mainly surface only (shown Below)

Other than that is soild, bonnet, wings (both wing have small dints in them),

Doors, rear boot are in great condition, a great restore for someone (see pictures below)

There a key mark on the rear quarter (shown Below)

Gearbox – No Issues - Gear linkage is a little sloppy

Exterior, No real issues, a few parking dents, could do with a respary, but good solid project, sunroof in the roof and its water tight, never leaked, all rubbers are in good condition on doors, tailgate, windows (drivers could do with replacing). The Car also has a Will have a Twin headlight Grille and not the chrome one shown in the first set of pictures, and smoked x headlights

Interior, Car come with a set of Mk2 rainbow fronts, black dash and door cards, Black carpet. The headlining is black and is MINT (see pictures below) - all Dash parts are in parts in box.

The floor is solid as soon in the pictures below….

All Electrics work

It still has the original stickers in the drivers door and boot…

This would be an ideal restore project for someone.

The car is based in Bolton near Manchester, I’ll be back in Manchester until the 30th April if anyone want to view. If it doesn’t sell before then it will be going on Ebay in the middle of May.
