I'm looking for quotes with a 40mm drop, 14" VW alloys, a Weber 32DMTR and a GK manifold. I've explained that the engine mods are for fuel economy. One of the companies who are currently quoting for me want "confirmation that the engine mods have not increased BHP". Hmm! It's dubious whether there's actually any more power than standard but is this one of their get-outs where when I have a smack, they wheel out an "expert" who says "Of course the mods have increased BHP"?

I wouldn't declare the Weber, unless my insurance company was cool like brentacre, it looks far to stock to be noticed i believe, same applys to the gk manifold even more so.

I think saint polo's is a good idea, if you can prove it has not increased HP to the insurance company then they surely wont be able to do anything!

i wouldn't say anything either! The engineer who looked over my GT didnt notice many of the things i'd changed or altered! Was only concerned with the damage.

a dmtr is not a modification, its a replacement part. no different to fitting non-genuine (standard height) shock absorbers. DCOE's then yes, its pretty obvious what they are for, under the standard filter you'd have to be pretty keen to notice it.
