I rang up to add my polo 16v to my insurance the other day, i told him the Reg and he said 'Polo SE', i said no its a polo 16v, and he just mumbled and carried on. I've just got the certificate in the post this morning and it says on the certificate that its an SE!!!

So I've checked the reg and its all correct, and the V5...which says POLO 16V. My insurance will be void no? ANyone else had this problem?

I'd get back on the phone to them.

If you have an accident they will do all they can to avaoid making a payout, so sort it asap.

Just phoned them, it took her a while to sort it out. Thankfully i haven't been driving it! Dread to think what would have happened because it technically wouldnt have been my fault.

Thing is she didnt charge me any more for it being a 16v which is..strange. But if its a 16v on the certificate then i haven't got anything to worry about.

If the certifcates are right, then your not in the wrong!

i had simular problems on my insurance trying to spoon feed them that the trim is 16v... ther just like no not the engine what trim is it... then saying how its not on there list lieing bastards lol...

even giving them my reg some people thought it was a 1litre... but all my forms say its a 16v... at work they beleive its a mk2 golf gti convertable syncro... dont believe they were even built on a p lol
