hiya, got pulled the other day by 2 cops as i reported my number plate stolen so was checkin if i had stole it!!! ( actually doing a good job 4 once!!!)

next they call a traffic cop out to check the car over who asks me to open the bonnet as he cudnt work out how to open it!!! he then points to the suspension and says "well that makes the car unroadworthy" so i said why? i have reciepts for the springs and shocks so why is it unroad worthy??? so he says to me that it has no give and that i cant modify my suspension like that as its not standard height and has no give!!!!

anyway they let me off as I've bin havin bad luck lol

Tell me how he knew the suspension wasn't standard just by looking under the bonnet?

I'd have said that the shocks are just new and haven't bed in yet, thats why its so hard.

Also if it's unroadworthy they have the right to seize the car right there and then. If they let you go scot free then they are just talking bollocks.

I seem to be saying this quite a lot, but Police officers these days are simply full of shit. Any reason to flex the underdeveloped muscles they have been given by their boss, before crawling back home to see what mum's cooked for tea. Impudent little pricks like this are stopping the world from turning! Rant over for now.

All this bollox about 'changing this is illegal changing that is illegal' is all a load of tosh.

You can change whatever you want (within reason, dont go fitting 12" spikes to the front of your car). Change too much and you might need an SVA, but that doesnt make the modification illegal! It really pisses me off and i really cant wait to get pulled by one of these inept, short sighted officers and give them a good rant.

Anyway, carry on, if they give you anymore hassle report them for wasting police time because that's exactly what they're doing.

Well they cant just say "er yeah,you're alright to continue,we cant find anything wrong so we've just wasted your,and our,time." Oh no,that'd be too easy. And obvious. Much better to make up some suggestion that there's something they're not happy with,so they got a fruitious result,but are gonna let you off this once because they're nice like that.

I think sometimes they get a bit lonely and just like a chat. A wpc seemed to really want me to plead for forgiveness after my passenger threw a fag packet out the window. I was filling up at the petrol station the other day and two traffic cops pulled up to fill up to as one went to pay he stopped and looked at my tires (195/45 stretched over a 9j ) walked up to them and touched them and i thought o no here we go but then he walks up to me and says its illegal to have no door Handles then walks off now is this true :( cos TVRs dont have door handles.

if u piss them off they will try anything to do you for something... whether its seizing your car for inspection... tempting as it is to tell them to get a life and a proper job it just isnt worth it
