hi guys an gals, just thought id give you a sneak preview of my project.

bodywork - the general theme will be smooth bumpers, de spoilered tailgate, relocated filler cap, bora style plate recess on tailgate, pulled and smoothed arches, A4 handles, no mirrors (i have oem blanking plates), 8 & 9" dished rims, smoothed bay - it will have a few trick touches which ill keep under the hat at the mo. I'm keeping the heater but it wil be smoothed and painted and have some plastic welding to tidy it up and make it more pleasing on the eye.

Engine - i have a tuned G40 turbo motor which should be a peach! fully rebuilt and has ported and polished GT inlet and ported & polished G40 throttle body. Chromed sump, 319cc injectors, uprated fuel supply, forge intercooler. I will also be using an Emerald ECU. i will dress it up a little with some polishing and colour coding.

Interior - for the time being it will be a semi stripped theme with buckets, but will do more to the inside once she is up and running etc.

this will be a dry day/shows only car, but I'm not going silly with it as it will get to the point of not wanting to drive it for fear of damage! lol

i want to keep some practicallity, hence keeping the heater (which I'm sure ill get some stick for), but at the end of the day, I'm the one who will be driving it an dont wanna get pissed off all the time for making sacrifices like that.

I'm hoping to have the engine in and running in about 3 months, with the bay finished and painted. ideally id like it on the road by the end of the year, but as I'm saving for a house, things may run into next year! time will tell! :-D

they are some old AEZ's..... not sure what model though! had em about 8 years! lol

was thinking about doing a refurb on them untill can afford some new rims. colour coded centres with gun metal dishes and smooth the bolts off....... thoughts?

You can only buy the ECUs complete.

I think he meant the loom wiring, can you buy them complete Andy, like a basic loom or is it too specific for each car?

You get connector, pins and seals with the ECU - or for £60+VAT you can get the ECU connector populated with flying leads for you to crimp/solder to the rest of your loom/sensors etc. You really are better off making it yourself anyway, as it's up to you how you configure all the outputs etc - so you probably won't use all of the pins anyway.

yeah was gonna get the ecu steup from pitstop steve, but hopefully get him to wire it up as thats the only area which I'm unsure about. i dont have an engine loom at the mo so dont have any connectors to use anyways.

i take it basic instructions come with the Emerald on where the outputs are supposed to go.......? and do the connections that come with it fit the polos direct, as i was led to believe it was a case of plug an play....?

I used OEM G40 connections on my Emerald loom. There are instructions so you can label everything up once its connected in the ECU end and then cut them to size accordingly.

an its a lolly stick not a tampon, as mr whippy had just been to visit! lol

so sounds like it would be a good idea to get myself a G40 loom then...... (wish i not got rid in the first place!)

lol yeah got emsoaked in diesel to keep the old girl in shape!

yeah should be looking at a reliable 170bhp hopefully! could get more but wanna keep it driveable.

as much as id like to keep it, the badges are going. might put the gt one on the grill though for funnies.....
