went out and bought the karcher car brush thing for my car and some meguires gold shine wash and wax stuff and some meguires clay bar kit and a meguires water magnet....

gave my car a very very good wash and wax, and dried it off using the water magnet and it was god dam clean!!!

first time with the clay bar, so very hesitant in how to use it properly and whether it'd work to how i thought, and god how dirty my car actually was!!! the sh**e coming off my car was disgusting!! Definately using that again!!!

yeah I'm still suprised, especially down the sills and bottom of doors, you can feel it pulling off all the crap!!!

and rick it cost £23 from halford for a clay bar packaged which consists of 2 x clay bars, 1 x mist spray(for lubrication), 1 x wax and 1 x buffer type cloth.

well worth it in my opinion!

yes I've realised, was well worth the 3 hours of effort to make it extra shiny, Its just finding the time thats the problem but because I'm back at my mum and dads i have unlimited useage to my pressure washer

cant beat a good clay!

I was really skeptical about these clay bars. Didn't think they would make a noticeable difference, but it was a sunny day and I have money to burn so I thought I'd give it a try and I was amazed with how nice the car comes up.

Think it could benefit from it again cause its been covered in mud and dirt all winter so it'll be filthy!

I was skeptical, but i was in the mood for spending money on my car so got the clay bar.... i only went out for screen wash and ended up spending £60!

Just two things, are you using a brush to wash your car? and did you place that clay bar on the floor?

they will both scratch your car, the brush defiantly and the clay bar is very dangerous if it has been dropped or placed on the floor as trapped dirt which has been picked up will be folded into the clay which you will be rubbing against the paintwork, you could effectively inflict deep scratches.

i got the brush, but will only use it now and again to get into bits like the radiaotr grill and the honeycomb stuff as I'm worried it'll scratch, normally i do the 2 bucket method(when i can be bothered), and the clay bar never touched the ground once as thats one thing i was worried about(in the pic its resting on some tiny bits of sponge that you cant really see)

Thats cool, the last thing you want to do is damage your car when your trying to tidy it up.

Yeah i know. i dont normally use a brush, normally one of them mitt things, but they're not the best for in and around badges, grills, roof rails etc etc so i only use a brush every blue moon and when i do theres plenty of soap suds so not to scratch as badly...

i nearly did drop the clay, slipped out of my hand and was a juggling act so not to drop it! last thing i wanted was a dirty big piece of grit poking out and scoring the paint work....

quick question about the clay, if i run out of the misting stuff, what else can i use as a lube or does it HAVE to be that stuff??

For clay lube you can mix some Ph neutral car shampoo with water, but as a quick detailer you need the proper stuff.

I've used the same clay before and it worked a treat, Pulls little its of tar of with ease!!!

This stuff will probably last me ages, but its just good to know of an alternative to save on a few pennies....

claying a car really ios worth it, and only took about 20 minutes to do the whole car!!!

washed using a karcher pressure very lightly just to wet the surface, sprayed wheels with general degreaser, then got the karcher car brush attachment on with some meguirs gold class wash and wax, brushed the whole car(please note this musnt be done often as it CAN scratch the surface), rinsed off with normal pressure washer, dried using meguires water magnet towel thing, then used the clay bar mister, clayed over it, wiped off the mister with the enclosed cloth and bobs your uncle!!!

i was going to wax it, but it started raining and i forgot to get the terry towel to do it properly....

so basically its a wash and wax, dried, clayed and excess mister wiped off

So the clay bar is reusable?

In most cases you should clay your car before waxing it as the clay bar will strip off the majority of waxes meaning you'll need to wax it twice!

tis bvery shiny dude, i like them reflection shots. kinda makes me think why am i bothering with a white car...

Stu i wouldn't of used the brush on your car (especially after using in on your wheels), you should be using a wash mitt and a two bucket method!

Also i think you should be washing your car again after claying!
