WARNING - PETROL

Featured Replies

Filled up on sunday drove off and few miles on the car cut out and now it wont run.... it seems to be down to the petrol which i'am now hearing rumours that they hav problems with contamination in the Diesel but appears the petrol is affected to! So had to get the bugger towed! Hoping that draining the tank and filling up with DECENT petrol with a cleaner in it will have the car running ok again with out causing any damage to the freshly rebuilt engine!!!!

Just a word of warning!

was rock bay in buxton on leek road

as in texaco /esso / tesco

Esso hi octane fuel is really dodgy at the mo, put a full tank in to travel to manc, car stalled at junctions and idled badly, but i still got a high milage out of it, now I've run the tank down to almost nothing, need to fil it up 2moz to do another long run and am running out of usable garages for decent fuel.

Its not just up here. South West Wales is just as bad. My mums engine modded Saxo wont even run on Tesco fuel just bunny hops and stalls & the local shell is getting just as bad as she cant fill her 2L 9000 CDE up there, she has got to the point were she has to carry round a bottle of Octane Booster to get it to run and its got worst this last week.

Its due to the imported fuel their brining in to offset the refinery strike. But as the texaco refinery in Pembrokeshire was uneffected why is this fuel getting to their.

Scrap that!!! Just heard: Due to Power failure the Refineries at Milford Haven are out of action as well, untill at least the middle of next week.
