Funky Mk 2 Polo in North East England

Featured Replies

Funky early mk 2 Polo Coupe, 1272cc. 1984.

I’ve just bought this retro little Polo Coupe as a surprise for my daughter as she has just passed her test. I tried to 'impose' it on her as I thought she would love it as her mates are into VW’s.

But she’s horrified!!!!!!! She wants a newer and more up to date car (although not much more expensive, I’ll give her that!) so whilst I thought I was being the perfect Dad, she has now decided that as she is back to Uni until the summer, she doesn't need a car just yet!!!!

It has 11 months MOT and tax until Sept. It has been 'slightly' lowered with new lowering kit all round, with alloy wheels to compliment. It has the usual stone chips and paint blemishes for a car of this age (original paint I think) but it’s very good for the year and is a great little driver.

These are pics from the last owner, I'll get some better ones done as soon as I can.

The car is very solid and the interior is very tidy, but it does have a rip in the drivers seat bolster (shown) and the parcel shelf is missing. Remember, it's 24 years old!

Car is in Washington, Tyne and Wear.

I'm looking for £795 or best offer?

One of my 'older' aircooled VW pals suggest I try it on here, what do you guys think?

Cheers,

Kevin

Bloody hell  I don't know what he actually ended paying for it but (I'm not batk1n btw) I doubt he bought it for £300 though, despite what the listing said. I bought it from a bloke in Teesside for £700 (so it's travelled a long way - must be reliable  ). I hope to get my money back but who knows?

It doesn't mean it not a cracking little car though 8-)

Cheers,

Kevin

Sorry mate, she doesn't want a car until later in the summer after she finishes Uni and she has been away for a month to recover from the 'trauma' of her exams (it's more like bloody Butlins, but there you go. I'm old and don't understand apparently :-D ).

I go on holiday on Sun this week (4 May) so if anyone wanted to make a cash offer and collect it before then they may get lucky
