hi dubbers,

i'm currently 90% complete on the build of my 6n (originally 1.4 16v) g40 but have had a change of heart, i'm thinking if i can reduce the weight of the gti then i'd transfer the g40 lump into the 6n2.

obviously i'd be removing the full 1.6 16v running gear, power steering, cable change linkage, aircon rad and climate control unit and abs set up.

i'll also remove the gti trim for two lighter front seats with a stripped rear, also will be running old school rare bmw 13" rims which means rear disc set up will have to go and fronts down sized to vented 6n 1.4 8v items.

possibly fit non gti front bumper to lose the washer jets to save a little more weight?

depending on interest i may break the 6n 16v shell, few scabs on body, had g40 engine fitted but never completed.

the 6n 16v '98 is basically complete car, sunroof model, central locking and elec windows (ready for g40 engine) minus engine box and loom, sold original seats has escort rs recaro's fitted up front. oh has red illuminated clocks, light switch and heater controls. can do a deal on whole car, i will be removing brakes (full) for my 6n2.

Do you have the plastic inserts in your 16v bumper available?? LHS and RHS needed. The little slim pieces. not the larger ones in the lower part of the bumper

still have both the bumpers, i haven't started work on switching the parts as yet so am still driving around on the rear beam.

unfortunately not, i used it on the 6n40, g40dave could tell you what is required to fit to a g40 as he fitted it, i just broke it for parts. think it was a couple of 90 degree silicon bends a 45 bend and a 90 degree steel bend which i might actually still have?

as new mate, i covered the 1500 miles in just over a month so they're just over a month old and v. clean, i'll give them a quick clean too before they get sold, they're still on the car at the mo.

if you want to see exactly when i bought them see e-bay member olly1538 and check the feedback.
